When you think about starting the day on a positive note, that makes a lot of sense. After all, you’ll want to start as you mean to go on, and that means getting into a positive mindset and looking for the good things in the day ahead. But what about ending the day on a positive note as well? I believed it is just as important as starting it that way because it will help you sleep better, relax more, and it will even help you start the next day right as well. This is also the moment i’d get a an anxiety attack so for me putting the effort to end my day positively helps.

With that in mind, don’t forget to check out my previous post: MY TOP PICKS FOR A SELF-CARE SOLO DATE IN MONTREAL and let’s take a look at how to end your day on a positive note.

Unplug From Screens🧘‍♀️

It’s so easy to think we’re relaxing when we’re looking at our various screens, whether that’s a phone, tablet, laptop, or perhaps TV, and in some cases, you will be more relaxed – watching a favorite TV show or movie definitely has a lot of positive points.

However, scrolling through social media, on the other hand, has a lot of negative points, and that’s often the last thing you’ll want to look at before you try to get some sleep and relax, especially as you’re likely to see nasty comments or bad news (yes, there are some good things as well, but the bad things are what will stick in your mind and give you a bad night’s sleep). It makes sense, in that case, to unplug from your screens (or at least social media and communications) well before you go to bed. Read a book, meditate, or listen to music instead, and you’ll sleep much better, especially considering there’ll be less blue light emitted, which confuses the body and stops it from getting tired.

Create A Relaxing Routine🌙

Creating a relaxing evening routine is a great way to tell your body it’s time to start winding down and get ready for bed, and coming up with the different ways to calm and soothe yourself is a fun thing to do. You might like to take a warm bath, do some gentle exercise, journal, listen to some soothing music, or, if you’ve kept up with your hot tub maintenance, perhaps you’ll even take a dip in there to let the bubbles relax you.

Your bedtime routine is going to be unique to you because you’re the only one who knows what makes you feel relaxed and sleepy, and trying a few different things is a great idea because you might even find a new routine that helps you even more. My personal bedtime routine consists of 10 to 15 minutes of meditation and journaling. This truly helps calm my mind and my physical anxiety symptoms.

Set Goals✍️

If you want to end your day on a positive note, why not make some goals for tomorrow? In that way, you’ll have something to aim for as soon as you wake up, and when you’re making your list, you can think about all the things you’ve achieved in the day just gone – this combined will give you a truly positive way to end the day.

When you can organize your thoughts like this, you’ll stop worrying about – or at least thinking about – everything you need to do, making sleep easier to come by, and giving you a better quality night’s rest too.
