Hello and happy Sunday ! Today, I want to share with you the best toners for your skin type. Toners are an important part of my skincare routine. They hydrate, prep the skin for the next steps in your routine, and with added beneficial ingredients, such as niacinamide, can contribute to your overall skin wellness !
Now, if you want to know what my favourite toners are, depending on your skin type, then keep on reading and don’t forget to check out my previous post: HOW TO SPEND TIME ALONE 😉
The Best Toners For Your Skin Type
For sensitive skin
If you are looking to soothe redness and calm irritated skin than these two options are for you. The Mugwort essence contains 100% mugwort extract which has anti-inflammatory properties and is meant to hydrate and soothe redness. It’s also a wonderful option if your skin is not necessarily dry and if you really need something light and refreshing. On the other hand, the nourishing milky toner by Paula’s Choice is more creamy in texture (to replenish and hydrate) and is perfect for stressed skin. It has specific ingredients – allantoin and panthenol – to calm redness and sooth irritation and is extremely nourishing.
For normal to dry skin
For dry skin I would recommend these three products. They are nourishing, hydrating and have a creamy texture. They also have soothing properties, but unlike the mugwort essence and nourishing milky toner, they are heavier in texture. The enriched calming toner by Paula’s choice is actually my go-to when my skin is extremely dry, flaky and irritated. Whereas the rice toner by I’m from is my favourite toner for when I need something lighter, but still nourishing and replenishing.
For oily skin
If you don’t have specific skin issues and are looking to slightly hydrate your skin while helping balancing it out then these two options are for you. The pore-reducing toner by Paula’s Choice and the Fat water by Fenty Skin are lightweight, hydrating and help control oil production. They are perfect if your skin tends to be normal to oily and if you struggle with enlarged pores.
Lastly, if you are looking for toners with exfoliating properties then these three options are for you. These toners are perfect to remove dead skin cells, target pimples, and enlarged pores. They help with skin texture and leaves your skin looking glowy and smooth. They are meant to be used just a couple of times per week so personally, I love to pair the Watermelon glow toner by Glow Recipe with the rice toner by I’m From. One works to nourish and hydrate my skin, while the other works to control my oil production and target my acne.
I actually love the watermelon glow toner because it’s extremely hydrating and smells absolutely divine !
