COFFEE WITH JOY! // / Unfortunate trip, end of masters, 2022 goals and more

Happy Friday! I am back from my break with a little update on my life! I hope you enjoy and don’t forget to check out my previous post: A GUIDE TO ZERO WASTE LIVING!

Coffee With Joy!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I tested positive for covid while I was in Paris with my family. I was supposed to go back to Montreal on the 28th but unfortunately, covid had other plans for me 😂! I try to take this situation lightly and in a positive way, just to stay in a good place mentally. As much as I took my precautions, I still got it. I don’t know how but what is done is done. I am currently at mum’s place in France and I am isolating myself for 10 -14 days. For now, I just want to focus on getting better.

Concerning the symptoms, on the 27th, I had a fever and unusual fatigue. It was the same day I had to get tested to travel. Now, I have a sore throat, runny nose, and shortness of breath if I do too much effort. I hope it doesn’t get worse. I am vaccinated and young so I do have hope 😛

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that despite having covid and stressing over the pandemic, I had a wonderful time with my family and I am grateful I got to spend Christmas with them. I am also happy I got to create some really fun memories!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I opened a second blog dedicated to film reviews and the movie industry. As you may know, I studied filmmaking and am a huge cinema fan. Movies run in my blood and are to me, the way to my heart. As the years go by, I’ve evolved and my passions have changed but the only thing that has always stayed the same is my love for movies. Considering that this blog is more related to beauty, sustainability, and wellness, I thought it would be smarter to open a different blog for movies. So, let me present to you film reviews by Mademoiselle O’Lantern: Deep Cinema Dive.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I quit my job at H&M and started a new job at a zero-waste/ eco-friendly grocery store. I liked my job at h&m but it was time for me to move on and start something new. I also wanted to work for a company that aligns with my personal beliefs and values and that has a better work environment.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I submitted my thesis in August and got the answer from the jury in November. I succeeded with honors but with minor modifications to make. I actually have till the 19th of January 2022 to submit my corrections and get my diploma. This is so exciting to me because getting my master’s and writing a thesis was always something I wanted to do. It’s a big achievement and it also marks the beginning of my career life!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you more about my 2022 goals. For this new year, there’s so much I want to work on, especially mentally and spiritually.

  • Get better at staying in touch with friends
  • Go out on my own (my goal is to visit a musuem in montreal on my own)
  • Release an e-planner
  • Release or work on a guided journal (very ambitious but I want to at least start working on it)
  • Maybe start a certificate in wellness and holistic coaching?
  • Try new things (little or big, I want to be more adventurous and break my routine from time to time)
  • Open my heart more and let the energy flow (this is in reference to my anxiety)
  • Stop allowing fear and anxiety guide me

Coffee with Joy!

I hope 2021 treated you kindly and that 2022 will be a year full of opportunities and happiness for you. Remember that it’s okay if you have not achieved everything you wanted. Life is not a race. It is meant to be lived and it’s about the journey, not the end goal. You are creating memories, you are having fun. That is all that matters. With that, I wish you a wonderful new year

xx
