If there’s one thing my journey to self-healing has taught me, is that you can find joy in the most unexpected and little things in life. Whether it is the smell of coffee as soon as you wake up, or just resting on your sofa feeling grateful to be alive. There’s so much in life to feel joyful for. So, inspired by Olivia Lucie Blake‘s post, today, I am sharing with you how to find joy in everyday life. Like Olivia states it in her article “not everyday will be great, but there is always great in everyday”.
Now, don’t forget to check out my previous post: HOW TO MANIFEST YOUR IDEAL SELF and let’s get into it!
Finding Joy In Everyday life

Being Outside
The first way to find joy in your everyday like is by going outside. Going outside kind of makes me feel like the world is bigger and that the problems I worry about are not worth dwelling on. I start noticing other people but also the beautiful aspects of nature. It puts the focus on something other than myself, which alleviates my stress. At the end of the day, it’s not for nothing that the quote “taking some fresh air” exists! Being outside helps you put things into perspective.
Practicing gratitude
The second way is to practice gratitude. Practicing gratitude has a way of humbling you down. It has the power to make you realize the little things that make you happy and that truly matters. According to Mandi Em, author of “Witchcraft Therapy“, a grateful mind makes you a magnet for abundance, happiness and feel-good energy. It’s what allows you to see the glass half-full, instead of half-empty.
Spending quality time with loved ones
Another way to find joy in your life is to spend quality time with your loved ones. I don’t know if you ever heard of the quote “Happiness is contagious: surround yourself with happy faces” but that’s what I mean by spending quality time with your loved ones. It’s to just surround yourself with all of the people that make you feel happy and support you in one way or another.
Making time for hobbies
The fourth way to find happiness on a daily basis is through hobbies. When life becomes too overwhelming, your hobbies can help you relax and help you form a life of outside of work. Doing something you enjoy can be beneficial for your mental health. It can lower anxiety, lower your stress level, and help you cope with depression. It also allows you to look forward to something at the end of the day!
Realizing that happiness is a journey, not a destination
I hear a lot of people say that their end goal in life is to feel happy yet struggle on the way because they are stuck in this belief that to be happy you need to tire yourself out at work or make sacrifices you don’t want to make. But truth be told, happiness is how you achieve your end goal. It’s finding the little things in life that makes you burst into joy. It’s taking the time to evolve as a human and make good around you. In the movie “Soul”, the main character’s motives come in full circle at the end of the movie, with him realizing that the best part of living isn’t chasing ambition or catching hold of a fleeting dream, it’s just living.
You have to make the most of things. Life is truly short and if you don’t work for your happiness now, it means you’re just not living your life. Life is meant to be lived and your sole purpose on earth is to live it. With that said, this is of course my personal opinion and how I see things in life. Your perspective could be totally different, which I respect.
Finding Joy In Everyday Life
“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if only one remembers to turn on the light”. This is actually one of my favourite quotes from the Harry Potter movies because Dumbledore insinuates that happiness starts with your mindset. It’s a citation that encapsulates well this article. All things considered, I hope this post was helpful to you and wish you a wonderful week-end!
