7 HEALTHY HABITS WORTH ADOPTING

Happy Friday! Today, I am sharing with you 7 healthy habits worth adopting. I actually started adopting these habits to improve my mental and physical well-being but also, because some of them are generally better for the environment and our society. I’d also like to add that these are personal and won’t necessarily be ideal for you. But, I still thought I’d share them with you!

Now, if you want to know more about the healthy habits I’ve adopted, then keep on reading! Don’t forget to check out my previous post: A COMPLETE GUIDE TO CRYSTAL HEALING.

7 healthy habits I've adopted

Less procrastination, more hobbies!

The first habit I started adopting and that was a game-changer in my life is to procrastinate less and use my free time to do something fun and rewarding. Let’s be honest, scrolling on Tik Tok for hours is more draining and overwhelming than work. So, instead of staying on my phone when I am exhausted from work or have zero motivation to be productive, I decided to put the little energy that I have into something like painting, reading, watching a movie, or journaling. It feels much more rewarding and relaxing than having my eyes mindlessly fixated on a phone screen!

Water before coffee

The next habit I decided to adopt is to start my day by drinking water, not coffee. Look, I love coffee and I cannot start my day without it. Nevertheless, it’s not really healthy to have coffee as soon as you wake up. Instead, drinking water or lemon water is much healthier, jumpstarts your system in the morning, and is better for your gut.

Morning meditation and journaling

The third healthy habit I’ve recently adopted is to meditate and journal as soon as I wake up. I usually try to get up 30 minutes before I start my day to meditate and journal. In general, journaling helps me stay more grateful, grounded and allows me to reflect on myself. In the morning, I love to write about my dreams, the things I’m looking forward to doing that day, and my daily thoughts. On the other hand, meditation allows me to start the day on the right foot and be in a better mood!

Body movement

The next healthy habit I believe is worth adopting is to move your body. In the past, I really hated working out for the sole reason that I did it for the wrong reasons. It was more like an obligation and a chore rather than a hobby. Recently, I decided to work out for the sake of feeling good and moving my body. I try to do that 3 times per week, and only when I felt like it. This automatically motivated me to work out all the time and keep my body’s health at its best!

Honouring my natural cycle

I always used to see my menstrual cycle as an annoying time of the month. But recently, I decided to see it more as a moment to honour my female body and give myself the break that I deserve. During that time of the month, I rest, take things slow and eat accordingly. Personally, it has greatly benefited my mindset and my body!

Upcycling and reusing

The sixth healthy habit I think is worth adopting is to do more upcycling and reusing. When it concerns shopping, we all know that buying new is damaging to our environment and society. That’s why I started giving another life to some stuff I previously owned and reuse some items for different purposes. That allows me to avoid any waste and unnecessary purchases and hence is automatically better for our planet.

Think before buying

The last habit I’d like to share is to think before buying. This is something I am still working on but that I believe is a habit worth adopting because it’s just better for our planet. Before buying something, I always ask myself three questions: “Do I have something similar? Am I going to wear or use it often? Do I actually need it?” These questions allow me to rethink my impulses or what I want to buy. Most of the time, the things I wish to purchase fail to answer these questions and I never end up buying them and never regret my decision.

These really are some great habits. I tend to have a lot of packages coming to the house and could certainly think a bit longer about what I actually need. Great advice!
