5 REASONS WHY A SUCCESSFUL CAREER SHOULD BE CENTRAL TO YOUR WELLNESS STRATEGY

Happy Thursday! Today, I am sharing with you 5 reasons why a successful career should be central to your wellness strategy. Your career is far more than ‘just a job’. It plays a central role in many aspects of your life, especially in relation to your wellness. For this reason, now is the time to give this part of your life the attention it deserves. It can be hard to find motivation when you are stuck in the comfort zone. However, the following advice will highlight why it’s important to focus on your career. Before I start, I do want to mention that this post is not meant to shame anyone who does not want a career. I definitely believe that there are different ways to attain happiness and well-being. Each individual is on their own journey and has a different way of living, which is amazing I think. Do not feel pressured to have a career, especially if you don’t want one.

You Spend 40+ Hours Of Each Week At Work

Even if you work a 9-5, that’s 40 hours of your week dedicated to your career. Plus commuting time. Plus overtime or little jobs from home. With the average person working for over 50 years, the potential impact on your mental wellness is huge. The AARP quiz will soon confirm how happy you are at work. But even taking it suggests you’re not.

If you are unhappy at work, it will take its toll on your mood at home and in relationships. Whether it’s climbing the ladder or stepping onto a new one, a change is needed.

It dictates your financial health

Whether you love your work or not, money is the main reason for having a job. It is a fact that many people continue to overlook. However, your salary will have a telling impact on your financial health. Given that money worries are the most common source of stress in the modern age, a well-paid job is truly life-changing.

It can help you afford a better house. Take better holidays. And avoid the fears of whether you can afford to pay the bills. Perfect.

The sense of pride is telling

It’s only natural to compare your life to other people. In truth, you should only compare your current self to your former self. Even if you are unable to acquire that mindset, a good career is one issue that will help you look more favorably on your situation. Home offices, awards, and other items linked to your career will boost your pride too. Embrace it.

Pride is an incredible feeling that helps you carry yourself in a more positive manner. On a side note, it provides a source of inspiration for your family.

It satisfies the human desire to grow

Human nature dictates that we want to keep striving for more. Your career is one of the best ways to do this while it also influences your mindset in other life aspects. Investing in your future with IAPAM training can work wonders. Not least because working in beauty and wellness lets you play added focus on your wellbeing.

Hitting your targets and milestones will have a telling influence on your mentality. Meanwhile, simply having those goals in place provides direction and purpose in your life.

It’s never too late to change your path

Many people think that it’s too late to change their careers once they hit their 30s or 40s. However, the average person changes their job seven times. Even if you are in your 50s or 60s, switching your career can deliver immediate benefits followed by years of increased happiness. The mental benefits will also extend to your retirement.

When supported by the other reasons mentioned above, the incentives for placing a greater focus on your career are clear. Now is the time to make it happen.

All of these points are so true. Work has such a large impact on our lives, it’s definitely something to take into consideration when considering wellness. I’m trying to leave my current job for that exact reason – it’s such a mental drain! Hope you’re having a good weekend, Joy 🙂
