Happy Friday! Today, I am sharing with you my morning self-care routine. I always love to take it easy in the morning but at the same time, I want to be productive. I actually wake up every morning at 8 am in order to work on my blog and answer e-mails and stuff. So, in this post, I will share with you my cozy morning routine!

A Morning Self-Care Routine
Cuddles with Lucie
The first thing that I do when my alarm rings at 8 am is to cuddle with my cat. This is actually a habit that was forced on me by my cat…Lucie. Every morning, as soon as my alarm rings, Lucie runs across the room and jumps on me. If I am not awake, she just waits patiently next to my head. She is seriously adorable. So cuddling her every morning has become a habit and to be honest with you, I love it. It directly puts me in a good mood. Plus, it’s a much better way to start the day, rather than checking my phone.
Greet my plants
Like with my cat, as soon as I wake up and get up from bed, I like to take a look at my plants and just greet them. This is not when I usually water them but I always feel the need to look at them every morning and just connect with them. Also, just having plants around makes me so happy so I always need this boost of happiness in the morning to start my day on the right foot.
The next thing I do in the morning is to make myself a good cup of coffee and a nutritious breakfast. I would either make banana oatmeal with maple syrup and blueberries or pour myself some milk with granola, honey, almonds, and chia seeds and add some sliced bananas. It really depends on what I feel like. But both help me tackle the day in full force and help me start the day on a positive note.
After I prepare my breakfast, I like to play some music from my morning playlist on Spotify. It’s called the “morning commute”. This playlist always puts me in such a good mood, it’s motivating and calming at the same time which is exactly what I need in the morning. While listening to music, I like to start working on my blog. This is also when I am going to start planning for the day which brings me to my next step.
In the morning, I like to plan what I have to do for the day. I actually use the application “Notion” to plan everything I have going on. Whether it’s for work, for my blog, for university, or for home tasks. Everything I need is in this application. It is available on my iPad, iPhone, and laptop, so I have it at all times and, anywhere! In general, planning ahead helps me achieve things better and helps me stay productive throughout the day. It also eases my mind knowing that I planned everything that I have to do!
Tidy Up the house
The next step in my morning self-care routine is to tidy up the house. As soon as I am done with my breakfast and work, I do my bed, tidy up the kitchen and make the house look nice and cozy! I cannot be productive in a messy environment so I always have to make sure that my apartment is clean and organized to tackle the rest of my day!
The last step in my morning self-care routine is to simply get ready. This is when I will usually do my skincare routine and dress up. I actually love to do that even when I am planning on staying home. But just being all dressed up and ready to go out gives me some sort of motivation to be productive during the day and to be honest, it makes me feel good. I like to look nice and I like to take care of my physical self.
