Happy Wednesday! Today, I am sharing with you my honest First Aid Beauty Body Scrub Review. I’ve been using this body scrub for a couple of months already so I had the time to gather my thoughts on it and to experience it in the summer, fall and winter season.
Now, don’t forget to check out my previous post: MY 6 GOOD NIGHT HABITS and let’s get into it!
First Aid Beauty Body Scrub Review
This product retails for 28$ (or 36$CAD) and comes with 226g/ 8 oz of product. It is also available in a smaller size (56.7g/ 2oz) which retails for 10$ (or 13$CAD).
According to First Aid Beauty, this body scrub “exfoliates to reveal healthier-looking skin”. It targets dryness, pores, dullness and uneven texture. It contains three key ingredients: pumice buffing beads, to exfoliate particles and to remove dead cells, glycolic and lactic acids to help the skin appear bright, and, bisabolol to sooth the skin.
Pumice, Water/Aqua/Eau, Glycolic Acid, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Lactic Acid, Dimethicone, Stearic Acid, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Hydroxide, Palmitic Acid, Glycerin, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Sorbitol, Colloidal Oatmeal, Tocopherol, Chrysanthemum Parthenium (Feverfew) Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Salix Nigra (Willow) Bark Extract, Bisabolol, Hydrogenated Coconut Acid, Xanthan Gum, Steareth-20, Steareth-21, Myristic Acid, Sodium Isethionate, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, EDTA.
The brand adds that this exfoliator targets specifically keratosis pilaris (KP), which is a common skin condition that causes dry, rough patches and tiny bumps.
Packaging-wise, this body scrub is pretty standard. It comes in a squeezable plastic bottle, it looks purple and has First Aid Beauty’s typical patterns drawn on it. The packaging is extremely practical and easy to use however it’s not eco-friendly at all and let’s be honest, it’s not that pretty 😂.
Concerning the formula, this body scrubs performs exceptionally well. It’s extremely gentle yet thouroughly exfoliates the skin. It manages to remove all of the buildup dead skin and makes my skin extremely soft and smooth. Moreover, it brightens my skin, makes it looks very healthy and does not dry it out at all. It’s all fragrance-free which is amazing for sensitive skin and for those who cannot stand fragrance.
On another note, it contains some really interesting ingredients like vitamin E to nourish the skin and protect it from hazardous environment or pumice which is biodegradable and extremely effective at exfoliating the skin. I also love that it contains glycolic and lactic acids because both are chemical exfoliators that deeply penetrate your skin and gently exfoliate it on the long term.
On a negative note, the texture of the scrub feels extremely weird and uncomfortable. I don’t know how to describe it exactly but this is how I feel when I apply it all over my body.
Conclusion – First Aid Beauty Body Scrub 8/10
To conclude, I really love this scrub. It does a pretty well job at exfoliating my skin however I don’t like how it feels on my body. The texture is very weird and let’s be honest, it’s not the prettiest looking body scrub. It does not offer a pleasant bath experience and I know this is not what a lot of people look for in a body scrub but this is what I personally want. In general, I highly recommend it because the formula is truly amazing but personally, I wouldn’t purchase it again (I think).
