REVIEW // Lip Butter Balm by Summer Fridays

Happy Wednesday! Today, I am sharing with you my Summer Fridays lip balm review! This is actually the first time I ever review a lip balm but that’s because this is the first lip balm I ever buy. I usually use the Aquafor ointment by Eucerin, it’s not cruelty-free but it’s cheap, lasts for months and does the job!

Now, if you want to know my honest thoughts on this product, then keep on reading. Don’t forget to check out my previous post: REVIEW // Rosewater Daily Cleansing Gel by Good Molecules.

Summer Fridays Lip Balm Review

Product Information

This lip balm retails for 22$ and contains 15g/ 0.5 oz of product. It has a vanilla scent and is meant to hydrate and sooth parched lips.

The brand describes the product as “a silky vegan lip mask that hydrates and soothes parched lips while sealing in moisture for lusher-than-life lips on demand day or night”. The product is packed with ultra-hydrating seed butters (Shea and Murumuru Seed Butters), to moisturize, soothe, heal, and condition parched lips. It also contains a unique blend of vegan waxes that will soften and boost shine all day with a smooth, never-greasy texture that feels heaven sent.

Phytosteryl/Isostearyl/Cetyl/Stearyl/Behenyl Dimer Dilinoleate, Diisostearyl Malate, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Polybutene, Hydrogenated Poly(C6-14 Olefin), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Microcrystalline Wax / Cera Microcristallina / Cire Microcrystalline, Octyldodecanol, Synthetic Wax, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Polyglyceryl-2 Diisostearate, Mica, Vanillin, Astrocaryum Murumuru Seed Butter, Propylene Carbonate, Tocopherol, Sodium Hyaluronate.

This product is vegan and cruelty-free. It is available at Sephora and Summer Fridays’ official website!

Packaging 5/5

Like most of Summer Fridays’ products, this lip balm comes in a paint type packaging, which I absolutely love! It is so aesthetic and very practical too. On top of that, It’s small so it’s easy to store and because it’s not in a jar, it’s very hygienic! The tube is also recyclable and is sustainable for the earth as it is not made in plastic!

Unlike many of the reviews on Sephora, I love how the product dispenses. If you just press lightly on the tube, enough product comes out to use all over your lips. Don’t squeeze too hard.

Formula 4/5

Concerning the formula, I love how this lip balm performs. It deeply nourishes and hydrated my lips, it makes them look plumped and shiny, which I love! I also absolutely love the subtle vanilla scent. It’s not overpowering and fades away pretty quickly, which is a wonderful thing

The only thing that bothers me is that it has the same longevity power as my Aquaphor ointment. It lasts for a good couple of hours before you feel the need to reapply, which is pretty normal for me except that this one is twice the price and contains less product.

Conclusion – Summer Fridays Lip Balm Review 9/10

To conclude, I really love this lip balm however, I don’t think I could ever recommend it considering my Aquafor ointment gives me the same results at a much cheaper price. I am very happy I got to try it and to be honest, I might repurchase it if I can spend 20$. I, of course, love the fact that this one is cruelty-free and vegan, this alone is a reason for me to keep using it and to purchase another tube!

That’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading this review. If you did, don’t forget to give it a ‘like’ and to subscribe to my blog.

Such a high score! I’m very tempted to try this. I’m always after new lip products because my lips are always in such rubbish condition!

It just arrived here too, I legit just bought the Laneige one but once that runs out I’d love to give this a go. I love fancy lip balms and the packaging is too cute
