3 WAYS TO STAY ENTERTAINED DURING A LOCKDOWN

Happy Saturday my pumpkins! Today, I am sharing with you 3 ways to stay entertained during lockdown. With the coronavirus pandemic still sweeping the globe, people are being encouraged to remain at home a little more. Even when lockdowns are eased, trips to the wine bar, social nights eating out and going to a nightclub aren’t going to be common experiences. Instead, people are going to have to make their own entertainment at home. To do this, you need to use your imagination. Many people equate having fun with spending money, but there are plenty of fun-filled activities you can do within your own home and with your nearest and dearest.

Watch TV

So, how often have you been watching TV recently? The chances are that you have discovered box sets that you never even know existed. TV is superb quality and has never seen a better array of productions from top-class dramas to binge-worthy comedies. There are a huge variety of packages, subscription-only services and free channels for your viewing pleasure. To save on TV services, consider investigating different packages available in your area. By swapping service providers, you may find a great deal or cashback offer that may increase your viewing potential. Go for a package that will suit you and your family/partner. If you love the latest blockbusters, make sure you have movie channels at your disposal. If you like niche global cinema and dramas, Netflix could be worthy of your consideration. Personally, I live for Netflix and Disney Plus. Disney Plus has all of the Marvel movies so if you feel like doing a marathon. Disney Plus got you!

Play games

If you have a small brood at home, think about the sorts of games you can create to stay entertained. Old school board games can be a whole host of fun when sat around the table with your kids. Children crave the attention of their parents, so enjoy playing ludo, snakes and ladders, and monopoly in the evenings rather than your kids falling back on their online video games. Alternatively, head out into the garden and enjoy the summer weather. You could play hopscotch, get out the paddling pool or have a kickabout with a ball. By spending quality family time together, it doesn’t really matter what you get up to. Simply enjoy one another’s company while you can. I also highly enjoy playing board games with my boyfriend. We’ve been playing a lot of Game Of Thrones Cluedo and it’s been so much fun!

Start A Project

If you need to stay active and struggle to cope with nothing to do, find yourself a project. Perhaps you want to head out into the garden to plant some vegetables or do some foliage pruning. Or maybe you have a more long term project in mind such as whipping up a greenhouse or building a shed. If you’d rather be indoors, consider decorating those bedrooms that you’ve been meaning to give a makeover to for the past few years. While no one welcomes this pandemic, it does give you the time and opportunity to complete those jobs that need doing around the house to make your living environment just that little bit more pleasant.

Personally, I’ve been painting a lot. It has really helped me pass the time. Plus, I’ve actually decided to make my own frames. That’s a nice project I am looking forward to!

Keeping yourself entertained during a lockdown isn’t easy. However, by following this guide, you can watch some awesome TV, enjoy some quality time with the family, and get stuck into the odd project or two.

That’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading this post and if you did, don’t forget to give it a ‘like’ and to follow my blog.

xx

These are great ideas! My boyfriend and I have been playing so many board games recently. There are a few projects we’ve managed to get through too – isolation sucks but it’s great to use the extra time xx
