Glossier Solution Review
Product information
This product retails for 24$ and contains 130ml of product. It is a chemical exfoliator and claims to clear, brighten and smooth the skin
Glossier mentions that “unlike physical scrubs, Solution uses a 10% blend of skincare acids to “unglue” dead skin and sweep it away, so your complexion appears smoother, softer, and glowier”. It also contains three acids : Salicylic acid (at a really low concentration), Lactic Acid (second ingredient) and Glycolic Acid (third ingredient). According to Glossier, this toner “helps improve the appearance of blemishes, visible redness, and enlarged pores”.
Active ingredients : 0,5% Salicylic Acid
Inactive ingredients : Aqua/Water/Eau, Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Gluconolactone, Propanediol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Ethoxydiglycol, Magnesium Chloride, Sodium Hydroxide, Glycereth-7 Trimethyl Ether, Niacinamide, Betaine, Inositol, Citric Acid, Glycerin, Phytic Acid, Pentylene Glycol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Parfum/Fragrance, PEG-8, Acetic Acid, Potassium Hydroxide
The product is of course cruelty-free, vegan and is available at Glossier’s website.
Packaging 4/5
This toner comes in the most gorgeous metallic pink bottle. Like most glossier products, the packaging is quite simple yet very aesthetic and follows, again, Glossier’s dreamy theme. It has a very practical dispenser to apply the product on your skin. You just have to press on it with your cotton pad and ta da! However, I wish it had a normal opening because i prefer applying my toners with my hand. I don’t want to be using cotton pads all the time for the sake of the environment. That’s an issue I only have but I thought I would mention it 😛. On another note, the bottle is most definitely travel friendly because it’s made out of plastic so it can’t break and it won’t spill everywhere because of the dispenser.
Formula 4.5/5
Concerning the formula this toner is probably one of the best exfoliating treatment I’ve ever used. From an ingredient stand point, it contains lactic Acid and glycolic acid which both are amazing at removing dead skin cells and exfoliating the skin to reveal a glowy and healthy complexion. This product also contains salicylic acid but it’s at a really low concentration. Mainly, salicylic acid is used to treat acne but since it’s at a really low dose, it did not do much to my skin. But that’s also because I am used to stronger doses. The fact that it contains this active ingredient makes this product amazing so that’s that!
In general, this toner did treat my textured skin and made my skin feel very smooth and look very bright. I also noticed that it diminished the appearance of my acne spots which is amazing. I also loved that it removed most of my black heads and treated minor acne pimples (nothing major, I still have acne 😛)
Furthermore, this toner contains niacinamide which is a wonderful ingredient to brighten the skin and to control oil production. It’s one of the best ingredients out there!
I actually use this toner every other day, not daily. It is quite intense and I don’t want to risk over exfoliating my skin or even risk irritating it (I have a combination skin). For people with dry skin, I would recommend using this toner once or twice per week. Because again, it’s quite intense. For oily skin types, I think daily use is good (make sure your skin can handle it though).
On another note, it contains a low dose of fragrance which I think is fine because it’s really low on the ingredients list and is barely noticeable. Plus, the rest of my skincare products do not contain any fragrances so I am good!
Conclusion – Glossier solution review 8.5/10
To conclude, I really like this exfoliating solution. It has all of the right ingredients and is not too harsh on my skin (when I use it every two days). However, I don’t think it’s a miraculous product and I don’t think I’ll repurchase it. Maybe in the future when I get rid of my acne but for now, I want to use Paula’s choice exfoliating toner because it’s a more appropriate choice to treat stubborn acne. I definitely recommend it if you were thinking about getting it and/or if you are looking for a toner to exfoliate the skin and to get rid of mild acne. It’s amazing for that and contains some amazing ingredients!

Did you try the The Ordinary one? It’s my absolute favourite. I’ve also tried the Pixi one but I’m not the biggest fan of it, this sounds amazing though

Yess I did try the Ordinary one and tbh I would go for it cause it’s cheaper and effective but I wanted to try a new product, you know? I don’t like the Pixi one anymore cause it has too much fragrance and the Glossier one (for the same price almost) is better 😛
I like the scent of the Pixi one I just don’t see the benefit. I just finished it and went back to T.O. and even my mom was like: your skin looks amazing, are you doing anything different? ahah

omg that’s great!!!
Well, it still sounds good even if it’s not the perfect one! I really like the pictures of your post, by the way! 😍 Have you tried to use reusable cotton pads? I bought a few several years ago and I love them! It’s much better than the disposable ones and maybe easier than applying it with your hands! 😂 I haven’t tried with my hands, though, maybe I’ll love it, who knows 😂

Thank you so much ❤️❤️! yes I have reusable cotton pads but I only use them to remove my makeup. Plus, they are always in the wash, it’s a bit annoying 😛. I should buy more of them 😛
I love photos you took, they look so lovely. Packing is so lovely, Glossier kills it with packing every time. Lovely review. xx
