Coffee with joy!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’ve received so many emails from brands who want to send me PR packages which I am so happy about. This was one of my 2020 goals and it just happened. Miraculously. I definitely didn’t start blogging to receive free stuff but it’s so good to get a little bit of recognition and be able to try new brands and tell you whether they are worth it or not!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I am back on Pixi’s PR list. For some reason, I stopped receiving their products. But, they contacted me again to see if I was still interested in getting their products. And, I am so happy cause I actually received a pr package two days later!!!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I quarantined myself at home to avoid spreading COVID-19, in case I do get it. I only go out for the essentials like grocery shopping. But basically I try to stay home a lot. Remember, that it may be just the flu for you, but unlike the common flu, Covid-19 spreads super rapidly and can be deadly for those with weak immune systems and the elderly.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that my no-buy plan has been going super well. I did purchase a few clothes this month but I think that will be it until May. Also, I haven’t purchased any makeup or skincare products in ages. I actually do have an advantage cause I did receive a lot of PR packages. Most of the skincare products I am currently using were gifted to me. And, I actually have enough makeup so I don’t need to buy anything new. On top of that, since I bought a few non-essentials, I donated some old clothes!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I actually plan on buying a few stuff during Sephora’s VIB sales. Who knows if they will actually make it happen. It was actually hard for me to choose which products I really needed but I narrowed it down to these three. I was actually looking for a palette with several highlighter shades and I heard really good things about this one. Moreover, I was actually looking for a red bullet lipstick cause I don’t like liquid lipsticks anymore. And finally, I really wanted new lip glosses and I thought these minis would be perfect to try! I think after that, I won’t buy any new makeup. I really have a lot of products I want to empty.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I really had a wonderful week-off in the last week of February. Me and my boyfriend went ice skating and we had so much fun. I really suck at it but we had fun. Moreover, we walked around the beautiful streets of the old Montreal, it was amazing! Also, we went to the Van Gogh exhibition “Imagine Van Gogh”. It was a truly breathtaking and impressive experience. The exhibition consists of a 360 visual projection of Van Gogh’s work in a huge room, paired with classical music. I literally cried because it was so beautiful and so immersive and I highly recommend it!!! (stay tuned for my vlog)
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that since universities are currently closed, I’ve been a little bit worried about my semester. I really need to ace these courses to be able to start writing my thesis which I want to do in Fall 2020. And, I am actually taking another important class in summer so yeah, it’s a mess and I am worried. I do have faith in my teachers and I am sure they are not gonna let us fail but well.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I am going through this phase where I am really hating on the system we are living in. So basically, Capitalism. I am literally questioning everything in our system and I am angry at all of injustices and horrors happening in the world by virtue of capitalism and for the developed countries to stay rich and advanced.
If you actually take a deep look into what’s currently happening with the coronavirus and see the positive side of it, you can see that our current way of living is NOT sustainable. You can see that since everything started, pollution has dropped drastically and people started worrying about more important stuff than just consuming and buying. I actually read a book on this matter (hating on capitalism, not COVID-19) and I highly recommend it if you know how to read in French. It’s titled “Le capitalism expliqué à ma petite-fille” and written by Jean Ziegler.
That’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading it. If you did, don’t forget to give this post a ‘like’ and to subscribe to my e-mail list!

You are doing the right thing staying at home, I’m getting really frustrated with people who don’t understand it.
The ND face palette looks amazing, can’t wait to hear your thoughts! x
I wish I was able to stay at home, but my workplace hasn’t announced closures. I’m trying to avoid all contact with public places! I’ve noticed that the grocery stores have hand sanitizer wipes at the entrances now, which is great!
I hope you’re able to stay on top of your classes, it’s sad that everything is closed now 🙁
