January movie reviews

Bad Boys For life [2020] 2.5/5

bad boys for life movie review.jpg

“The Bad Boys Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett are back together for one last ride in the highly anticipated Bad Boys for Life.”

“Bad Boys For Life” is a fun, entertaining and surprisingly enjoyable movie but it just stops at that. It contains some goofy jokes, has amusing action scenes and has Will Smith in it, that gotta counts for something, right? But other than that, the movie is pretty standard and brainless. It offers a generic action, a predictable plot and a poor performance. I recommend “Bad Boys For life” if you’re looking for an easy movie to watch that requires no thinking whatsoever and a meaningless laugh.

1917 [2019] 4/5

1917 movie review.jpg

“April 6th, 1917. As a regiment assembles to wage war deep in enemy territory, two soldiers are assigned to race against time and deliver a message that will stop 1,600 men from walking straight into a deadly trap.”

“1917” is a cinematic beauty that must be experienced on the big screen. The movie offers a stunning cinematography, a beautiful colour palette and amazing production design. I highly enjoyed the narrow point of view – how from the beginning we followed the same characters and how we experienced the story at the same time as them. The story is simple and straight to the point but the movie cheats on a few occasions to move on with the story and does contain some stereotypes, which I was okay with, to be honest. Moreover, the use of long take made the movie even more authentic and intense. “1917” is a beautifully crafted war film that I really recommend to watch for the sake of the visuals!

Ford v Ferrari [2019] 4/5

ford v ferrari movie review.jpg

“American car designer Carroll Shelby and driver Ken Miles battle corporate interference, the laws of physics and their own personal demons to build a revolutionary race car for Ford and challenge Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966”

“Ford V Ferrari” is a highly entertaining biography movie with a high-quality content and impressive action sequences. It introduces a really unexpected yet exceptional duo who both offers a wonderful performance. The chemistry between the two is undeniable and made the movie what it is. On top of that, the movie offers a wonderful, intriguing and absorbing story as well as an outstanding cinematography. If that’s your vibe, I recommend watching this movie, you won’t regret it!

Fun fact : My grandparents are from a small village located near Le Mans. I basically spent most of my summers there so Le Mans has a really close place in my heart.

Little Women [2019] 5/5

little women movie review.jpg

“Jo March reflects back and forth on her life, telling the beloved story of the March sisters – four young women each determined to live life on their own terms.”

“Little Women” is an extremely sentimental, ambitious and thoughtful movie. It is so full of love and beauty that I started crying over how wonderful it is! The story was so beautifully written, has strong dialogues and moves very smoothly from the past to the present and vice versa. On top of that, the movie has one of most beautiful visual content with amazing costumes, outstanding locations and amazing art direction. Moreover, the actors offer a poignant and unforgettable performance. “Little Women” is simply one of the best period dramas I’ve ever watched and I highly recommend it!

5/5: Excellent!

4/5: Very Good

3/5: Good

2/5: Bad

1/5: VERY bad!

That’s it for these mini movie reviews. I hope you enjoyed reading them and if you did, don’t forget to give this post a ‘like’ and to follow my blog.

I watched Ford vs Ferrari and Little Women too! 😊 I didn’t like the first as much as you (though very enjoyable, I’d give it 3,5/5 maybe!) but I LOVED Little Women too! It’s such a modern history and I loved every part of it! Now I really want to read the book!
