MY 10 GOOD MORNING HABITS

Hello my pumpkins! Today, I am sharing with you my 10 good morning habits, there are actually 11 habits but 10 sounds better✌️. To be honest with you, I am not a morning person, I do wake up every day at 8 am but I am not a morning person. I am a night owl pretending to be a morning person, forcing myself  to be one because that’s the only way I can get things done. I actually saw Elena do this type of video on her channel and I could really relate to what she was saying and I thought that it would be a good idea for me share MY habits to have a good morning.

Now, if you want to know my 10 good morning habits then keep on reading! And, don’t forget to check out my previous post: JANUARY FAVORITES ’20

Side note : From now on, I’ll only be publishing two posts per week because work and university is literally taking all of my energy and time. Plus, I really want to take the time to create good content.

Drink Water 💦

First thing in the morning, drink water because you literally stayed 7 hours without it and you lack in hydration. Hydrating is key to stay healthy and energetic. It’s a very important habit that even I need to start getting better at! I am so bad at drinking water but I try to drink at least one cup of water in the morning.

Let some light in ☀️

One of the things that really put me in such a good mood is to see the light of the day. Seeing the light of day really motivates me to start my day and achieve all of the goals I’ve set myself to do. So, the second thing that I do when I wake up, is open the curtains and look at the beautiful snow from my window (that’s just in winter of course).

Listen to music 🎶

One way to really get me up is music. Music puts me in such a wonderful mood and really motivates me to be more productive. I actually love to listen to the “Morning Commute” playlist on Spotify. But, I also have my own playlist that mainly consists of indie rock music (Angus And Julia Stone, Mumford And Sons, Bands Of Funerals…).

In fact, according to the Lindsey Holmes (2016) in her article published in the Huffpost, music has tons of benefits for the health: it relieves anxiety, puts you in a good mood and helps you heal.

Breakfast 🥞

Another really important habit to adopt is to eat a good, nutritious breakfast. Breakfast is a key meal to start the day because it’s the meal that will boost your energy and allow you to tackle the day perfectly. I am a victim of skipping my breakfast sometimes and when I do, I am always so low in energy and it really sucks!

An easy breakfast I love to eat is Yogurt, blueberries, all-bran cereals and maple cyrup. If I am in a hurry, I just top my coffee with cereals and eat a banana on the side.

Have something to look forward to ☕️

On top of a good breakfast, I love enjoying my cup of coffee in the morning. Drinking my coffee is literally my favorite moment of the day and every time I wake up, I look forward to it. Having something to look forward to every morning is another good morning habit. Every morning, I wake up for one and only reason, work on my blog. My blog is what gets my up every morning and what really motivates me to start my day at 8 am and not 11am.

Do your bed 🛌

I think if you research on google how to become a morning person, doing your bed would be a very important tip and it’s true. Whenever I do my bed, I feel more motivated to work and less encouraged to go back to sleep. It’s a small objective you can tick off your to-do list and it’s something that really allows you to tackle the day on the bright side.

Along with doing my bed, I love cleaning my apartment really quickly. It really clears my mind and encourages me to have a productive day especially if I am going to spend my day at home.

Exercise 🧘🏻‍♀️

The 7th good morning habit on my list is to exercice. It’s really important to get your body moving in the morning, it really gets your metabolism going and it is directly linked to productivity, according Noma Nazish (2019) in her article published on Forbes. In general, working out in the morning is one less thing to do during the day, so I can tick it off my to-do list and it honestly boosts my energy. I actually like to work out at home for 30 minutes every day. I do a lot of stretching and some exercices to tone my body.

Motivational videos/podcasts 👩🏻‍💻

One of the things I love doing in the morning is watching motivational videos or listen to podcasts. I love feeling inspired in the morning and looking at a very productive person really inspire me to be productive. I love doing that while eating my breakfast but I know that some people would rather read instead or just stare a the sky and reminisce a little bit (that’s what my mum does).

Dress up and pamper up! 💄

The 9th habit on my list is to get ready. After, I am done having breakfast, working on my blog and working out, I like to do my skincare routine and get ready. In my opinion, that is a really important habit to have a good morning because it indirectly encourages you to achieve something during the day instead of staying in your pjs all day. Especially, if you work from home or have to stay at home to study, I personally get super lazy when I stay in my pjs, I am more encouraged to procrastinate rather than achieve things.

Prepare your day 📝

One thing I love to so is prepare my day the night before. I am a very organized person, that is no surprise for anyone and I love to prepare my to-do list for the next day. Moreover, the fact that I prepared everything ahead of time, gives me one less thing to worry about in the morning. The only thing I have to do in the morning, is to check my schedule and do what must be done!

Sleep Schedule 🌙

My last habit to have a good morning is to have a consistent sleep schedule. A sleep schedule that you can follow every day. If you sleep every night at the same time and wake up every morning at the same time, your brain will adjust to this routine and waking up in the morning will be much easier. Moreover, if you want to wake up early, you need to sleep early in order to have a good sleeping time. If you sleep well, you’ll wake up well.

And that’s it, my 10 good morning habits!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and if you did, don’t forget to give it a ‘like’ and to follow my blog.
