REVIEW // Aglow Priming Oil By Lilah B

Hello my lovely pumpkins! Today, I am sharing with you my lilah b aglow priming oil review. I am extremely happy because this product was actually gifted to me by the brand itself. This of course will not affect my opinion and will not force me to say anything I don’t want to say. I want my blog to stay as authentic and true as possible.

So if you want to know my honest thoughts on this product then keep on reading! And, don’t forget to check out my previous post: HOW TO CREATE THE PERFECT FLATLAY

Product Information

This product is “a three-in-one, nutrient-rich serum, moisturizer, and primer that can be worn alone or under makeup for long-lasting wear”. It retails for 68$ and contains 30ml of product, which is pretty standard for a primer.

Lilah b claims that this product create a smooth, flawless and nourished canvas. It claims to be a fast-absorbing, silicon-free primer that preps the skin for a long-lasting makeup base. On top of that, it claims to improve skin firmness, texture and tone.

The key ingredients are: Tamanu oil which contains anti-inflammatory properties and is rich in fatty acids to moisturize and helps sooth the skin. Jojoba oil which protects, moisturizes and soothes skin texture. Sweet Almond Oil which is rich in protein and Vitamin E to add softness to the skin. Purple tea extract which is known for its high content of polyphenol antioxidants to help improve skin tone. Grape seed extract which helps to improve skin firmness with hydration. And finally, lavender essential oil which provides a soothing sense of well-being.

The product is of course vegan and cruelty-free and is available at Sephora or lilah beauty’s website.

Packaging 4.5/5

This primer comes in the most beautiful and luxurious packaging I’ve ever seen. It is very minimal yet still looks extremely instagramable. I also love how expensive and heavy it feels. The product actually comes in a white semi-transparent matte glass bottle with a gold cap, white and gold pump and text written in gold as well. I love the white and gold together, it’s such a pretty aesthetic. Moreover, the packaging just goes really well with the philosophy behind the brand and the glass packaging is more sustainable than plastic (the pump and cap are plastic though).

The only negative thing I would say is that it’s not travel-friendly and if you’re clumsy you might break the bottle. But I am not clumsy and when I travel, I’ll just wrap it with my underwear to protect it (this is actually what I did with all of my Youth To The People products).

Formula 4.5/5

Concerning the formula, this primer performs as amazingly as it claims. On the short-term, I do see that it improves my skin texture, it leaves my skin looking extremely glowy and hydrated which makes it the perfect base for my makeup in the winter. Throughout the day, the primer keeps my skin very moisturized and nourished, I know that because the winters in Canada are extremely dry even for me, a person with combination skin and when the really drying and cold wind hits your face, it starts hurting and sucks all of the moisture of your skin. But with this primer, my skin (under makeup) stays so healthy and beautiful.

Moreover, it absorbs super quickly into the skin. Originally, the primer comes out very milky but transforms into this oily consistency. At first, I was scared it would not set properly on my skin and that my face would look like a disco ball all day. But no, it dries fairly quickly and leaves a healthy-glow.

This primer is not fragrance-free and it does contain essential oils which I know can be irritative to the skin however, it literally smells like a dream, like a day at the spa, the scent is just so soothing. I love how it smells, and I am surprised that I’ve not had a reaction to it.

I am not sure I’ll ever use it alone, as a moisturizer/serum, because this not what I look for in a skincare product. And, to be honest, with my current skincare routine, I don’t need it. On top of that, this is the kind of primer I won’t be able to use in the summer cause my skin becomes super oily then.

Conclusion – Lilah b aglow priming oil review 9/10

To conclude, I absolutely love this primer. It literally smells like a dream and it performs wonderfully. I am 100% sure i will use it for the rest of the winter season. It is an expensive product as lilah b is considered to be a luxury brand so it’s more the type of product you’ll have to invest in or the type of product you would buy for the experience. On another note, this product definitely encouraged me to try their aglow face mist and aglow cleansing butter, so these are next on my list.

That’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading this review. If you did, don’t forget to give it a ‘like’ and to subscribe to my mailing list.
