REVIEW // Flex Highlighter by Milk Makeup

Hello my pumpkins and happy Thursday!! Today, I am sharing with you my milk makeup flex highlighter review. This highlighter is relatively new, it only came out a few months ago but with all of the constant new releases, a couple of months is old :p But well, I never bother to buy new products cause I am that uninterested.  I actually really wanted to try a new highlighter so I decided to go for this one because I haven’t experience a lot of Milk Makeup products and this one looks gorgeous!

Now, let’s get into it! Don’t forget to check out my previous post: COFFEE WITH JOY // blog achievement, Christmas vacation & more

Milk Makeup flex highlighter review

Product information

The milk highlighter comes in 4 shades and retails for 28$. It contains 6.24g of product and is described as a “silky, pearl-and-gemstone-packed pressed highlighter that glides on smooth without creasing or caking for a next-level glow.”

It actually contains hyaluronic Acid which hydrates the skin so that it appears plump and smooth. Crushed Gemstones which gives the skin a radiant and gleaming appearance. Marshmallow Root Extract which allows the formula to move with your face, so it never creases or cakes.

This product is of course cruelty-free!

It is available at your local Sephora and Milk Makeup website.

Packaging 4/5

The highlighter comes in what appears to be a plastic container, it has decent-sized mirror and has a magnetic opening. The packaging is very minimalistic yet it actually feels expensive and is very “instagramable”. I also love the fact that “milk makeup” on the opening is in 3d, it actually feels very satisfying to the touch. Moreover, I love the carved design on the highlighter, it absolutely looks stunning and makes the highlighter look more expensive.

One negative thing is that since the packaging is white, it actually gets dirty very easily but it’s not something I personally mind.

Formula 4/5

This highlighter has a decent formula. It’s very pigmented, feels very buttery and applies smoothly on the cheek bones. Moreover, it does not emphasize the texture on your skin as much and is long-lasting. However, it is not as blinding as my other highlighters and it has a glittery finish, rather than a “wet” finish (which I love but that’s an unpopular opinion). On another note, this highlighter has a lot of fallouts, I don’t think I’ve ever experienced as much fallouts with a highlighter before.

Concerning the shade “blitzed”, I think it looks absolutely gorgeous on my light skin with warm undertones, however, I did take a shade that is slightly darker on me but it is not obvious at all when I blend it with my blush and bronzer. I do imagine the shade would look stunning on my really tanned skin. Can’t wait for summer then!

One other thing is that this highlighter has a subtle flowery scent which is actually barely noticeable but I thought that I would point it out, in case it matters to you.

I actually have the shade “Blitzed”.

Conclusion – Milk Makeup flex highlighter review 8/10

I really love this highlighter and I am very happy with the formula however, I don’t think it will ever replace my Fenty beauty highlighter or even my Kylie cosmetics highlighting palette. It’s not my favorite highlighter but I do recommend it and the formula is wonderful!

That’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading this review. If you did, don’t forget to give it a ‘like’ and to subscribe to my mailing list.
