Hello my dear pumpkins! Today, I am sharing with you how to successfully manage your blog. A lot of people requested this post after I actually shared very quickly on my Instagram story how I manage my blog. I am actually a very organized person and I have good management skills so, without sounding to cocky, I do think I manage my blog pretty well. Note that all of these will not help you if you’re originally not even motivated to have a blog. Motivation and dedication is key to manage a blog and these are just tips.
Now, let’s dive into it and don’t forget to check out my previous post: VINTAGE MAKEUP LOOK.
How to successfully manage your blog
Mission, Vision, Goals and more
First of all, one of the things I love to do when writing a blogpost, is to reread my vision, mission, goal and what makes my blog unique. That really helps me to not stray away and to write content that goes along with what my blog really is about.
A vision is supposed to be a dream, something ideal that seems impossible to achieve (but which is of course). My vision is basically to become Vogue Of Beauty and that if I ever had to create a magazine it would be this, my blog.
A mission is more like your overall, long-term goal. Mine is to inform, inspire and guide my readers when taking decisions.
A goal is pretty self-explanatory and I like to set several different goals for each month. Like for example, reach 10,000 views or collaborate with another blogger.
After my goal, follows my strategies to reach those goals. For instance, I can reach 10,000 views on my blog by focusing on increasing my blog traffic form search engine (with SEO). I can also try to bring my Instagram followers to my blog. Also, I did publish a post on how I use Pinterest for my blog, you can check it out here.
Finally, one thing that I love to read when I am feeling down or when I feel like my blog is not making it, is what makes my blog unique. So basically, what does my blog have that others bloggers don’t. Surely, it is very important to set this characteristic because there are so many bloggers out there and you need to stand out!
About my readers
Second of all, in order to stay consistent with my content, I like to know a little bit more about my readers; where you are from, your age, your interests, your habits and so forth. All of these informations will allow me to know what to publish and will help me create content that will be appropriate for you. I actually take all of the information from the comments you leave me and from Google Analytics.
For instance, I know that most of my followers come for the states so i can’t come and start talking about brands who are not available in the states. Another example is that my readers are mostly women aged from 25 to 34 years old, so I know that I need to use a more complex vocabulary and talk about women stuff, not men stuff.
All of these informations are so helpful to stay on track and of course, to be closer to your readers.
Post Ideas
Third thing that really helps me manage my blog in a more successful way is to write down all of my post ideas on a paper. Firstly, this helps me avoid any writer’s block because I will always have ideas ready to be written and published. Secondly, this helps me know whether these ideas will be appropriate for my blog and if they will go with my vision, mission and goal. In general, writing and making lists help me a lot in clearing my mind and making wise decisions.
Planner
Lastly, in order to keep my blog consistent, I always schedule my blogposts ahead of time. People always ask me how I succeed to always be consistent with my blog, and publish on a weekly basis. Well, my “secret” is that I actually plan what I will publish for the whole month, a month ahead.
On my planner or agenda, I write the title of the post on the day I intend to publish it and I write it in purple to make it stand out. It becomes part of my daily to-do list and I usually only work on to-do lists. Like, I plan everything I have to do during the week like grocery shopping, coffee with a friend, read an article for class and so on. So basically, right now, I have blogposts scheduled for the rest of the month and for December.
That’s it! How to manage your blog
