REVIEW // Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm by Farmacy

Hello my lovely pumpkins! Today, I am sharing with you my Farmacy cleansing balm review. I actually purchased this product a few months ago but didn’t get the chance to review it because I already had a lot of post planned. I know that Farmacy is not a really famous brand but I really want to start reviewing more indie brands (I think it’s an indie brand, correct me if I am wrong).

Anyways, if you want to know my honest thoughts on this product, then keep on reading and don’t forget to check out my previous post: Movies I Watched In October 2019 – From Worst To Best.

Farmacy Cleansing Balm Review

Product Information

This cleansing balm comes in two sizes: one in 100ml and a mini one in 50ml. The big one retails for 34$ and the mini one retails for 22$.

Pharmacy describes this product as “a makeup remover and face cleanser that melts virtually all makeup, leaving skin hydrated and silky smooth”.

The main ingredients are: Sunflower and Ginger Root Oils (Melt even stubborn makeup (including long-wear) without stripping or drying skin), Turmeric and Moringa Extract (Help remove impurities, sunscreen residue, and fight the effects of pollution) and Papaya Enzymes (Naturally exfoliate pores).

This is a clean product at Sephora and is cruelty-free (affiliate link- if you intend to buy it, please use this link and help reach my goal to become a full time blogger, thank you!)

Update : I recently learned that most balm makeup removers contains plastic which is obviously harmful for the environment. I definitely will not be repurchasing this product for that reason!

Packaging 4/5

The cleansing balm comes in a regular white plastic jar and comes with spatula for hygienic purposes. The packaging is pretty simple and clean. You can obviously tell you are not paying for the packaging but for the product itself, which personally, I don’t mind at all. It’s a cleansing balm, the packaging doesn’t have to be fancy or elaborated. I do love the flower design near the name of the product “green clean” but other than that, nothing seems to stand out.

Formula 5/5

This cleansing balm smells like heaven and the formula is spot-on. I don’t wear waterproof makeup but it does remove any traces of makeup in a really fast and effective way. Moreover, it is super gentle and hydrating and does not leave an oily residue. I also love how a little bit goes a long way and how it melts so effortlessly  in your hands (even when it’s cold).

What I love about cleansing balms in general is that it is so easy to remove your makeup with them. You don’t need to use cotton pads or put a lot of effort into it. This one specifically really makes the process of removing your makeup more pleasant and satisfying. Furthermore, the scent is actually not strong at all and does not linger.

Sadly, I actually had to stop using it because my eyes are allergic to any derivative of Coconut and this product contains “Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride”.

Conclusion – Farmacy Cleansing Balm Review 9/10

I think the cleansing balm by Farmacy is an amazing alternative to micellar water or coconut oil to remove makeup. It is so gentle yet removes makeup effectively. However, I don’t think for 34$, it is worth buying. It is not excessively expensive and you do get a lot of product for the price but I know that some people may find the price a bit excessive for just a makeup remover. Moreover, you’re not even paying for a luxurious packaging so unless you’re a fan of Farmacy or willing to spend that much for a makeup remover, I don’t really recommend it. I do recommend supporting the brand in general as it is a clean and cruelty-free brand.

That’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading this review. If you did, don’t forget to give it a ‘like’ and to subscribe to my mailing list.

This was the first cleansing balm I’d ever used and I loved it. It was so effective at removing my makeup.

I really really love this cleansing balm but the price is a bit high, especially to use often so I’m looking into something cheaper and a bit more sustainable like a makeup removing towel lol
