8 WAYS TO WAKE UP A TIRED FACE

Hello, my pumpkins! Today, I am sharing with you 8 ways to wake up a tired face. These tips are ideal if you wake up every morning very early, don’t have the time to wear a lot of makeup, or didn’t get a good night’s sleep. I actually woke up yesterday morning with the worst looking face: my allergies were acting up and I had barely slept 5 hours. My skin was looking dull and tired. And even though, I gave you tips to achieve a glowy skin on the long-term, these tips do not apply when you want to look awake on the spot. Instantly!

Now, if you want to know how to make your face look more awake in an instant, then keep on reading! Also, don’t forget to check out my previous post: AUGUST FAVORITES 2019.

Rinse your face with cold water

That is the most efficient tip I have for you to wake up. To rinse your face with really cold water. It’s like a big slap in the face and does wonders to instantly wake you up. Plus, it directly depuffs your face which is awesome!

Drink Water 💦

My second tip is to drink a lot of water. It will instantly brighten and hydrate your face, which is the opposite of a tired face! Also, drinking water makes one feel better, especially after staying without water for 7 hours.

Moisturize

This tip is one of the most important tips if you want to look less tired because a tired face is usually very dry and dull. A good moisturizer can easily plump and hydrate your skin. And don’t forget your eyes. You can easily tell that someone is tired from their eyes.

For extra love, you can spread your moisturizer with a cold face roller. This will actually depuff your face in an instant, especially your under eyes. And, it feels very relaxing!

For better results, you can even simplify your moisturizing beauty routine for face by using a bb cream on tired days. The bb formula is naturally hydrating, keeping your face moisturized all day long while the self-adjusting pigments work their magic. The bottom line: Your face feels hydrated, and nobody can spot the signs of tiredness. It also avoids using too much makeup to give yourself a healthy and glowing complexion – it’s never a good idea to replace skincare with makeup!

Use a brightening serum 🍊

Brightening serums are everything. They are not only here to increase your collagen production and to diminish the appearance of dark spots. They give you a boost of glow and instantly make you look your best! This is a tip that you could use on the long-term but I do notice a major difference form the first couple of times I use them and hence why I am adding it to my list!

My favorite brightening serum is the OleHenriksen Truth Serum

Cover your dark circles

On a daily basis, I do not like to apply a lot of makeup and even less, concealer. However, my trick to even out my skin tone and conceal just a little bit my dark circles is to apply my tinted moisturizer all over my eyes. My trick is also not to set my face, that way my skin looks radiant and natural! It does not actually cover my dark circles completely but it does even out my skin a little bit and makes me look a little bit less tired. I also don’t mind dark circles at all (or imperfections, as a matter of fact).

Do blush

Blush has the edge to make you look less dead and more alive. It gives you back color to your skin, restore the glow, and always looks very flattering! Personally, I love going for shimmery blushes or cream blushes for the extra glow. My current favorite ones are the Cloud paint by Glossier and the Hot Mama blush by The Balm Cosmetics

Curl your lashes

To open up your eyes a little bit more without using any mascara, I would definitely recommend curling your lashes. That way, your eyes will look wide awake and ready to see the world!

Another tip is to definitely avoid anything that can darken your eyes, like black eyeliner on your waterline. I personally would go with a simple mascara and a wing line or just curled lashes!

Rosy Lips 💋

My last tip to wake up a tired face is to add a little bit of natural color to your lips. In the past, we used to bite the lips to enhance the blood circulation and make them look redder. Well, we are not going to do that but the idea is the same. You want to add a subtle color to your lips to make them look perkier and hence, boost your overall look!

Thanks for the tips! I personally have 2 products that I use when I want to look less tired: one is a face oil that instantly brightens my skin and the other one is a face mask!

One is a pink clay mask from Cattier and the other is one of my favourite skincare product and it’s the Rosehip Oil from Pai. It’s quite expensive but I truly love it, it evens the skin tone and makes you look more “alive” I sometime use it as a makeup primer too 🙂
