COFFEE WITH JOY // One year in Montreal, what I learned & more

Hello my pumpkins and happy Monday! I am back with my “Coffee With Joy” sessions so sit tight, grab a cup of coffee and let’s start talking!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that it’s already been a year since I left my cozy nest and moved to Canada with my boyfriend. Remember when I said, and I quote “I still haven’t heard anything from the universities in Canada….I still feel stressed and anxious”. I can’t believe that one year ago, I was in Lebanon, PRAYING I would move to a new country and here I am, writing this post, in my living room in Montreal!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I love my life in Montreal so much. I love my routine, the people, the architecture, the weather, the vibe. I just love it. I, of course, miss my family very much considering we are very close but I guess the moments we spend together when I am in Lebanon become more precious and fun!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I learned a lot about myself during that one year away from my home and family. I learned how independent, perspicacious and responsible I can be [even though I knew I was but my experience in Canada is just confirming who I thought I was].

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that moving to Canada with my boyfriend and living with him, allowed us to take our relationship to whole new level. I realized during this one year what a power couple we are, how strong are friendship is and it allowed us to see what are the things we like to do together. As matter of fact, there are a lot.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you how proud I am of my blog. I love the content I am creating, the community I am connecting with, and how it is growing. It’s scary to even think that I might make it as a job one day but I am excited at the same time. I do hope that it will keep growing and that I’ll get to meet more amazing bloggers and people. I am currently seeing a friend of mine who has an e-marketing company and who’s helping me out stepping up my game, taking my blog to whole other level! You’ll definitely see some changes in the next few months!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I am also loving my content on Instagram. I definitely stepped up my game and started to take it more seriously. Which in return, boosted my engagement.

If we were having coffee, I would tell that I am actually very anxious to start my masters [tomorrow basically]. I know my schedule will be full and overwhelming but I have faith that I will succeed!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I am changing my schedule again because of university. I will be posting at 9:30am, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. And, I will try to publish my videos on Saturdays.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I might stop Youtube and the reason is because I don’t have the time to manage it at all. I might publish a few videos from time to time but nothing consistent and nothing that sticks with my blogging schedule. I consider youtube to be an extension of my blog. Something that I do which completes my blog and that allows you to know more about me as a blogger!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I am raising a big interest in skincare, more than in makeup. I sometimes find myself doing research on ingredients for hours and I always end up watching skincare videos on youtube.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that my hate for Instagram makeup has grown. I am not even exaggerating, I cringe whenever I see someone apply a million layers of foundation with a ton of concealer in a triangle shape, too much contouring and false lashes that look so unnatural.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that my skin is not doing well and it is pissing me off. I don’t want to pay for a dermatologist because every time I do, the treatment works for a while then stops. I was on accutane for 6 months and it didn’t work, like tf? I am currently on retinol. I hope this works but so far I haven’t seen any new major changes on my skin. It is just as worse.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you how I am enjoying the art of Instagram stories. If it was a job, I would definitely apply for it!

Lovely post! I loved learning a bit more about you! I acutally moved to Montreal a year ago too, what a coincidence 😊 I’m glad you’re happy with how your blog and Instagram are evolving, I personally like both of them a lot!
Concerning skincare, I’ve been on Accutane for the last months and it works really well! If it didn’t work, maybe try some natural skincare products? 😊

omg you’re in Montreal too? that’s amazing, I actually asked you in the other post if you often come here XD we should meet up once! thank you so much, I really take care of what I post on instagram!! yes maybe I should try something more natural, it’s really annoying me that I can’t get rid of my acne!

Hahahaha yes I just answered on the other post 😂 Yes, we should definitely find a way to meet! As for natural skincare products you can find some truly good things, I could recommend you some hahaha (the rosehip oil I mentionned in your other post is one of them and the brand Pai is a natural brand specialized for sensitive skins 😉 )
