REVIEW // Melted Chrome Eyeshadow by Essence

Hello my pumpkins and happy Monday!!!

I’ve decided to write more reviews on drugstore products because first, I now have access to awesome cruelty-free drugstore brands. Second, I do realize that not everyone will constantly buy expensive products from Sephora or even order online from Colourpop for example.

Hence why today, I am reviewing Essence’s Melted Chrome Eyeshadow. I already talked about these eyeshadows on my Instagram, so if you follow me there you probably already know that I LOVE THEM. If you are looking for affordable single eyeshadows, then this post is for you. Now, don’t forget to check out my previous post: SPRING LOOK BOOK 2019 // 6 casual spring outfits, and let’s get into this review!

Product Information

These melted chrome eyeshadows come in 6 shades. Each eyeshadow retails for 4,99$ and contains 2g of product (or 0.07oz.).

I have the shades 1 “Zinc About You”, a terracotta pink eyeshadow and 3 “Platinum Nights”, a navy blue eyeshadow

These single eyeshadows have a chrome finish and they are vegan and cruelty-free. The claims are: “a unique bouncy, creamy texture glides smoothly onto the lids with extreme color payoff”.

You can get your hands on them at your local Shopper Drug Mart, or Essence’s official website. If you live in Lebanon you can get them from MyKady and use my code “MyJoy” to have 10% off on any order.

Packaging 5/5

For 4.99$ I think the packaging of these eyeshadows is so cute, very simple but doesn’t look cheap at all. I love the fact that the top is transparent so you can see the beautiful metallic shades. I also love the calligraphy on top, simple, but it does the job and it looks super attractive.

The opening is quite secure so I am sure they won’t open by themselves and get messed up. Hence, they are very practical to travel with, on top of being small.

Formula 5/5

The formula of these is SO impressive. I never expected these eyeshadows to be that pigmented, that buttery and so bendable with minimum fallouts [there are still fallouts but it’s manageable in my opinion]. They are so pigmented that you don’t even need to wet them before applying and for the shade “Zinc About You” you don’t need a base whatsoever. The shade “Platinum nights” is pigmented but is less opaque so I think a black or blue base would look awesome under this eyeshadow. Moreover, they last for a very long time and they don’t crease. Concerning the shades, they both look exactly the same on the pan as on the eyes.

Conclusion 10/10

To conclude, I think these chrome eyeshadows are definitely worth checking out: they are inexpensive but the formula is truly on point. On top of that, it actually contains more product than regular single eyeshadows, that’s like…awesome? for 4.99$? Also, the shade range is really cool but they should definitely release more shades, because this formula is a major hit!!

That’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading this review and if you did, don’t forget to give it a ‘like’ and to follow my blog.

Essence is so underappreciated in my opinion. Not only are they affordable af, most of their products are amazing quality. I almost got a few of these but couldn’t justify having more single shadows since I have so many.
