BANANA BRIGHT FACE PRIMER BY OLEHENRIKSEN | Review & swatches

Hello my lovely pumpkins and welcome back!

Today I am reviewing OleHenriksen’s newest Banana Face primer. I actually  received this product in complimentary from Influenster to test and review it but of course, all opinions are mine! This is actually my first VoxBox, I was so excited to receive it but I already love Ole Henriksen’s banana bright eye cream and use their Truth serum on a daily basis.

Anyways, if you want to know my honest opinion on this product then keep on reading and don’t forget to check out my previous post: A WEEK IN MY LIFE |college break

Product Information

Okay so this primer retails for 46CAD or 36USD, it contains 30ml of product like any standard primer and is of course, cruelty-free.

The claims on the product are: “A vitamin C-infused, illuminating face primer with banana powder-inspired pigments that delivers instant radiance while improving and extending makeup wear.” so it is supposed to hydrate and make your makeup long-lasting. It also has some claims to reduce the appearance of pores. The main ingredients are vitamin C, vitamin E and Banana powder-inspired pigments.

It is ideal for all skin types but targets “Dullness and Uneven Texture, Fine Lines and Wrinkles, and Pores”

It can be applied three ways which I tested all: under makeup, mixed with foundation and alone as a daily moisturizer.

This product is also supposed to work hand in hand with Olehenriksen’s famous banana bright eye cream which I love!!

You can get your hand on this primer at either Sephora or OleHenriksen’s website.

Packaging 5/5

The packaging is very simple but I don’t know why I love it so much: the bright orange makes it hard not to spot, the tube is made out of plastic of course which makes it travel-friendly, I love the fact that the cap/pump and writings are white, the orange and the white mix well together I think and highly reminds me of summer. This packaging is very photo-worthy and makes you want to show it off, which I think is cool!

I also appreciate the fact that the product has a pump, it controls the amount you’re supposed to use  and it makes it easier, again, travel-friendly.

Formula 4/5

Let me get this straight, I love this primer, it does hydrate my skin very well, it keeps my makeup longer and it reduces the appearance of my pores, not a lot but enough to mention it, I don’t know if it’s ideal for all skin types but I have a combination skin, my t-zone is not crazy oily but it is and I enjoyed this primer. Now, I tried this primer in 3 different ways like I mentioned above.

First way:  I applied this face primer as my daily moisturizer and I actually liked it for my skin type cause it doesn’t make my face too oily but I don’t know if this moisturizer will be amazing for really dry skin and for oily skin cause it is not extremely hydrating but it’s also too hydrating for really oily skin in my opinion (but let me know if I am wrong). I like this face primer as a moisturizer because it does even out my skin a little bit but nothing too extraordinary and it reduces the appearance of my pores a little bit which I appreciate and my face looked slightly highlighted, exactly the right amount of highlight.

Second way: I applied this face primer as a regular primer, under my foundation and I agree that it made my makeup last longer than without a primer. Again, it evened out my skin toned, reduced the appearance of my pores [again, not by a lot cause they were still visible but that’s not the main claim of this product], kept my face hydrated and glowy. I am repeating myself but again, it is not extremely hydrating but it worked well for my skin type and it worked amazing as a base for my foundation.

Third way: I mixed this face primer with my foundation. This probably something I always do with my tinted moisturizer to diminish the amount of coverage of my foundation and to have a natural glowy, comfortable finish. I totally love the way this way looked on me, it is my favorite way to wear a foundation to be honest!!
