Hello my pumpkins!!
Today is the second day of 2019 and my first post for 2019!! I cannot wait to see what 2019 has in store for me but for now, I’ll just share with you my review on Tatcha’s Silk Canvas Primer. This primer was a major hit in 2018, everyone raved about it hence why I decided to buy it, yes, I am guilty of the influencers’ influence 😛
Anyways, if you want to know my honest opinion on this, very expensive, primer, then keep on reading and don’t forget to read my previous post: December Favorites ’18 xx

Product Information
This product contains 20g of product and retails for 52$. This primer is ideal to even out the skin, fill in the pores, has anti-aging properties and protects your skin from pollutants or any harmful chemicals which reduces the appearance of wrinkles and dullness. The product is of course cruelty-free, dermatologist tested and good for all skin types. It does not contain Parabens, synthetic fragrances, mineral oil, sulfate detergents, phthalates, urea, DEA or TEA.
To use it, Tatcha advices to “Glide the spatula lightly across the top of balm. Dot with fingertips and massage into skin. A little goes a long way. Use a rice-sized amount for the whole face.”
They also mention, that you can use it not only as a face primer but also, as an eye primer and lip primer.
You can purchase this product from Tatcha’s official website or Sephora.
Packaging – 4.5/5
Formula – 4.5/5
I was really impressed with this primer, well, I was hoping it would work as well as as bloggers say it does because it is quite pricey. But seriously, I was impressed because it does even out my skin tone [not by a lot, but it does], it makes my skin feel like silk, a perfect smooth canvas to apply makeup on top and the best of the best, it makes my makeup last unbelievably long. I swear, my makeup never lasts for more than 12 hours, but with this primer, it does and I was shook when it did :p!
On top of that, it’s not too drying but not hydrating at the same time, so I think it is good for all skin types but if you have an oily skin, I would advice you to use a mattifying foundation maybe with it and if you have dry skin, make sure you moisturize your skin well and that your foundation is hydrating. It does not alter the formula of the foundation though, not from my experience anyways.
One more thing, this primer smells like a dream, it smells like natural herbs, I love it! the scent is not strong so don’t worry about it.
Dupes
There are thousand of products that claim to be dupes for this primer but I made sure to pick up the ones that seem to be the closest and that has the most positive reviews on. I’ve not tried any of these products so I cannot assure you that these are exact dupes.
- Elf Cosmetics Poreless Face Primer – I know that elf has some amazing primers so I think it’s logical that it has a dupe for the Tatcha Silk Canvas.
- Milani Primer Protect SPF 30 Face Primer
- Elf Poreless Putty Primer – I think this might be the closest dupes to the Tatcha
That’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading this post and if you did, don’t forget to give it a ‘like’ and to follow my blog.

I need a new primer, so this is perfect timing. How great that some primers can be used on eyes and lips. Thanks for including the budget-friendly dupes.

yes, but I’ve never actually tried on it my eyes and lips so I don’t know if alters the formula of the concealer or not! Thanks a lot for passing by xx
I definitely don’t mind paying more for a product that works and is good for your skin so thank you for reviewing this primer. I am always looking for the next product that can help me not age!

yes exactly! Thanks a lot for passing by xx
This looks like such a great product but a bit out of my price range. I’m going to try the elf dupe. Thanks for offering affordable options!
Author
yes I think I want to try that ELF one too, plus, I know that elf is famous for their primers! Thanks for reading xx
The packaging is certainly gorgeous! I can’t wait to try this primer out.

it’s really good!! Thanks for reading xx
This product was on so many people’s best products list for 2018. I just can’t support Tatcha as a brand, and the price is more than I’d like to pay for a primer. I am currently really happy with my Becca Backlight Priming Filter Face Primer so I will stick with that.

yes I totally understand you and I actually don’t think I’ll repurchase it if I ever run out of it!! Thanks for passing by xx
