Hello my pumpkins and happy Monday!
As the title says, today, I am going to review Dose Of Colors’ Matte Liquid Lipsticks. I was so excited to receive my order because it’s the first time I ever try anything from Dose Of Colors and I know from twitter that you guys are excited to hear my thoughts on these products as well so let’s get into this review!
These Matte Liquid Lipsticks retail for 18$ and contain 4.5g of product. Dose Of Colors claim that each liquid lipstick “has a velvety high-fashion matte finish which envelops lips in rich, long wearing color. It applies as a creamy liquid but after a few minutes it dries to an ultra comfortable matte finish.”
They also give tips in their websites which are: “Exfoliate lips before use. Avoid oily/greasy foods.” I am guessing this means that the lipstick can be easily removed with oily/greasy foods.
The brand is cruelty-free and the product is vegan!
I love how much thoughts there is in the packaging yet it is very simple; I love the logo of the brand and having it written on the lipstick is very nice, I love the transparent tube and the fact that you can see the shade of the lipstick, I love the combination of the white, silver and transparent [shade of the lipstick]. I absolutely love the packaging because it looks high-end and goes very well with the mood of the brand [neet and simple yet very luxurious]. The applicator has a weird shape [kind of like Jeffree Star’s liquid lipstick] but it sits well on the lips and make the application easier.
The formula of these matte liquid lipstick is very liquidy but it does dry to a matte finish. “Extra Saucy” is a bit patchy and doesn’t really apply evenly so I had to go over it several times for it to be even. The two other shades both apply really well. They are long-lasting if you literally don’t eat and kiss because the formula is not transfer-proof.
Other than that, all the shades are very pigmented and saturated, the colors come out the same as in the swatches and in the photos on Dose Of Colors’ website as on the lips.
For 18$, I think I’ve tried better liquid lipsticks; more pigmented and more long-lasting. But, I do love the ones I got, I love the shades, I think they are very original and unique and I definitely want to buy more of them. Moreover, I don’t think the formula is horrible, it is very decent, it’s just that I’ve tried better. I do love having them on my makeup vanity because the packaging looks stunning!
Finding dupes for these shades was so hard but here we go, I’ve never tried those dupes, these are just propositions. Also, I always try to find drugstore dupes for the product I review because they are more easy to find and more affordable!
Extra Saucy: Ultra Matte Lipstick by Colourpop in “Snowfleek” or “Ambush”. I don’t think these are exact dupes but I couldn’t find a color that is exactly like “Extra Saucy”.
I did find a dupe in the high-end category: ABH Liquid Lipstick in “Sarafine”
Sweet N’ Sassy: Matte Liquid Lipstick by Morphe in “Brunch” or Matte Lipstick by NYX in “nude”. But I think the morphs one is a better dupe.
Warm & Fuzzy: Matte Lipstick by NYX in “Tea Rose”. I think that one is a really close dupe!
That’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading this post and if you did, don’t forget to give it a ‘like’ and to follow my blog [you can do that by email].
