The Original Photo Finish Primer by Smashbox – review & dupes

Hello my pumpkins and welcome back to my blog, welcome if you are new!

Today, I am reviewing one of the most famous foundation primers in the beauty market and it is the original photo finish primer by Smashbox. This is actually the first time I ever review a primer here and I am so excited to share with you my opinion on this baby here so keep on reading if you are interested to know if this products is a hit or miss!

Product Information

This product contains 30ml of products, retails for 36$, is for all skin types and has a gel consistency.  It is supposed to smooth the skin, blur flaws and help the makeup last, it is formulated ” to help your makeup look better and last longer”. You can get this product from Sephora or from Smasbox’s official website and the brand is cruelty-free [like most of the products I review]

Packaging

The packaging of this primer is so nice and sleek, it didn’t used to look like this, I know that it used to be transparent but I like the combination of black matte and mirror silver better. Moreover, the font of the writing suits very well with the style Smashbox is trying to achieve for this product. I really like the packaging of this primer and the fact that it comes in a squeezable plastic not in glass makes it super travel-friendly. The primer doesn’t have a pump, you have to turn around several times the bottle to open it and get the product out by squeezing.

Formula

This primer does exactly what it claims to,  it instantly blurs my pores and flaws and makes my makeup so long-lasting. While my makeup usually lasts long enough, with this primer it lasts even longer and I appreciate that cause I like to see that my makeup look looks as snatched 9 hours later as it did the first moment I applied the products.

Conclusion

I think this primer does wonders to the skin and the longevity of the makeup but honestly, I’ve tried cheaper primers that do the same thing [check out my dupes below]. This primer is just too expensive and I don’t think I’ll ever re-buy it, maybe I’ll try another one from the collection.

Dupes

One of the cheap primers I tried and thought had a similar formula was the Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser by Maybelline but I I’ve also heard that the ELF Mineral Infused Face Primer have a similar formula.

That’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading this review and if you did, don’t forget to give it a ‘like’ and to follow my blog [you can do that by email].

xx

I heard great things about this primer, seem like everyone loves it, but you are definitely right, it’s too expensive, I don’t think I could pay that much for primer though. Also I rarely use these pore minimizing gelly primers, I have one currently and I rarely use it. xx
