Hello my dear pumpkins and welcome back!
Today, I am reviewing Kylie’s Velvet liquid lipsticks. Kylie Jenner’s brand is quite known for her lip product so it’s only logical that, after I’ve tried her matte liquid lipsticks, I try her velvet ones. I am personally not a big fan of matte liquid lipsticks because they just feel too drying, I get more along with a semi-matte finish.
If you want to know what are my thoughts on these babies then keep on reading and don’t forget to check out my review on Deadpool 2
The Velvet liquid lipstick comes in 19 shades [alone not in a lip kit], retails for 16$ and contains 3g of product.
According to Kylie Jenner “This long wearing, ultra pigmented liquid lipstick contains moisturizing ingredients that glide on for a creamy matte look that does not dry down.”
I got three shades [click on the shades name for the link]:
Savage – warm apricot nude
Vibe – dirty mid-tone orange
Low Key – warm pinky coral
I really appreciated the fact that the description of the shades is exact and the photos showing the shades are accurate, I was not mislead to think I got one color but ended up getting another. [something that often happens with Colourpop]
The packaging of the velvet lipstick does not change from the matte liquid lipstick; same black dripping design with “Kylie” written on it in a hand-writing font. I actually love the packaging, I think it’s a very pretty but again, it’s not the best and I think Kylie could do better.
I love that they come in a matte black box with the brand’s name written in shinny black (one of the boxes has the name written in black velvet) I think it is super elegant and luxurious.
The applicator is very basic and doesn’t change from her matte liquid lipsticks’ wand; it has a round shape and it is easy to apply the lipstick with.
Personally, these liquid lipsticks are my current favorite, the shades are STUNNING and so unique, they are very pigmented and creamy [like they claim]. Moreover, they feel so comfortable on the lips and are very long-lasting, they are not transfer-proof though so take care.
Another good thing is that the colors do not oxidize on the lips, and you get the exact colors you see on the tubes.
My favorite shade is “Vibe”, it’s the perfect color for Fall lovers honestly.
“Low Key” is a gorgeous nude, perfect for spring time and “Savage” is perfect for an everyday type of makeup.
If you want a cheaper version of these velvet liquid lipsticks, you can check out Colourpop’s Ultra Satin Liquid lipsticks or NYX’s Soft Matte lip creams. Both have a great color selection and have a very similar formula to Kylie’s velvet lipsticks.
I definitely think these Velvet Liquid lipsticks are worth the 16$: the formula is insanely good, the shades are gorgeous [and unique, I don’t think you can easily find dupes for these shades] and you get a fair amount of product [I am sure they will last me a long time].
That’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading and if you did, don’t forget to give this post a ‘like’ and to follow my blog [you can do that by email].
