Ready Player One [2018]

When the creator of “Oasis” [a famous virtual world] dies, he launches a game where all Oasis users must find an Easter egg in order to inherit the creator’s fortune. “Ready Player One” is a sci-fi/adventure movie directed by Steven Spielberg, one of the world’s greatest directors.

“The sheer dynamism and energy of the movie are compelling, even when the character drama isn’t.”
“Ready Player One” is a must-watch at the theatre movies because of the insane visual effects and intense action sequences. The story, as well as the characters, are quite cliché and shallow but I loved seeing this virtual world on the big screen and I loved all of the movie references. There’s nothing complex in the story but it is well-developed and builds-up well to the climax. Plus, the comedy is spot-on [I feel like now adding comedy to a movie is a must]. It is the kind of movie you watch for entertaining purposes, easy watching, a movie where you’re not invested in. Moreover, I feel like it is the kind of movie I’ll forget in a few years.

In conclusion, “Ready Player One” is a fun  movie that I do recommend watching on the big screen but it’s nothing that left me astonished or in-love. I rate it a 3/5.

5/5: Excellent!

4/5: Very Good

3/5: Good

2/5: Bad

1/5: VERY bad!

That’s it for this movie review. I hope you enjoyed reading and if you did, don’t forget to give this post a ‘like’ and to follow my blog.

Was a great production with up to date philosophical questions. Marketed to a very young audience. Bit young for me.
Good film for 12 or 13 year olds. Spielberg has learned something since he finished off and destroyed Kubrick’s AI.

This movie looks like it’s exactly how you described it; super visually amazing, but the plotline not so much. Great review! xx

I love the book more than the movie, but it still kept me entertained. Such a shame they changed some key elements from the book in the movie. It would have helped with the character development if they had kept a few things more similar.

aah I didn’t read the book so I wouldn’t know but I can imagine, I mean most movie adaptations fail to include key elements that are mentioned in the book. Thanks a lot for reading xx
