“A Quiet Place shreds the nerves, but it does so in a way that feels rewarding. You don’t just walk out having experienced a thrill ride, you walk out on a high, the kind of high that only comes from the best horror movies.”
This movie is gonna make it to my “April Favorites” because I absolutely loved it. From the story to the visuals, this movie is terrifying and stresses the hell out of you. The movie mainly focuses on the present, omitting background informations about the characters and story, it focuses on important informations, just what we need to know to understand the situation. The story is original and well-written, each scenes leads to the next and builds up to the climax which is the highest and most intense moment of a film. The movie is filled with suspense and kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time, I literally felt what the characters were feeling and I felt like I had to make no sound at all. John also made good use of the sound since this movie is mostly silent and has minimal dialogues. The acting is another amazing thing in this film, I understood what the characters felt through their facial expressions and gestures, not through their words, which I think is amazing.
If you are looking for a really good sci-fi/horror film, I definitely recommend this one!
I give it a 4.5/5 [just because they could have made smarter decisions concerning the script]
4/5: Very Good
1/5: VERY bad!
