Katie is a 17-year-old girl who suffers from a rare disease that prevents her from going out in the sunlight. “Midnight Sun” is dramatic/romance movie directed by Scott Speer and stars Bella Thorne as the main character.
“Midnight Sun does an effective job of tugging at vulnerable teenage hearts, while managing to provide a few laughs along the way. None of the film rings remotely true, especially the cornball conclusion, but the two young leads are so darn attractive and appealing that one can’t help being caught up in their characters’ poignant romance.”
“Midnight Sun” is another typical teenage romance movie that I thought would suck but is not so bad after all.
The story is very predictable, it doesn’t bring anything new or different to this genre and the dialogue is kind of cheesy however the story builds up well to the climax. I did feel for the character, I felt stressed and anxious when we arrived to the climax but even though there were sad parts, I did not cry, like I shed a tear but I did not cry!
Bella Throne is good in her role as a teenager in love and whose only concern is to live wildly. Plus, she has a pretty good connection with Patrick Shwarzenegger, who plays the role of Charlie.
Another thing I want to mention, I did enjoy seeing Bella Thorne singing, she has a beautiful voice!
In conclusion, “Midnight Sun” is good but not good enough. I don’t regret watching it but yeah, it’s not worth your time or money. If you do end up watching up, don’t except too much from it.
I give it a 2.5/5
4/5: Very Good
1/5: VERY bad!
