A group friends who occasionally meet for game nights, find themselves solving a murder mystery game. “Game Night” is a comedy/crime movie and was directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein.
“Fast and funny, filled with memorable characters, and able to balance slapstick and violence without spilling too far in either direction, this frenetic R-rated farce is that rare comic gem that lands on all the spaces without ever going to jail.” The Wrap
Surprisingly enough, I really enjoyed this film. I thought it would be one of those lame comedy movies but it’s not, at all. “Game Night” has a lot of mixed reviews but I am one of those who appreciated it.
I think the story is fun, the comedy is really spot on and the action sequence is well-done. I actually laughed a lot during the whole film and I didn’t think the humor was forced, that the jokes were weak or that some scenes were useless. In general, I really liked the story, even though the ending was way too pushed.
Another thing that I really enjoyed are the characters and the actors portraying them. I think the cast is really on point, I love Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams, they don’t have the best chemistry but I enjoyed seeing them together. Moreover, some of the characters are very memorable like Gary.
