Black Panther [2018]

After the death of his father, the king of Wakanda, T’Challa comes back to his native country, an advanced technological city, to take his rightful place as King. Soon enough, his throne is threatened by a powerful enemy and the fate of Wakanda is in danger. This new marvel movie was directed and written by Ryan Coogler.

I am gonna start this review but saying that this is probably my favorite Marvel movie, I really loved it. Keep reading if you want to know why I loved it that much

I think “Black Panther” has a meaningful story where the African culture plays an important role and where black actors play powerful characters. Moreover, the story was very well-developed and constructed and has a strong political statement. In general, I liked the fact that this movie is not all about the action, it has a heart and a deep theme. Good job Ryan Coogler!

I also loved the impressive visuals, the insane action sequences, the vivid costumes and the beautiful soundtrack.

The only downside is that I did feel like the movie was a bit long and to some extent, boring but honestly, it’s fine, I would definitely watch it again!

If you are looking for a good superhero movie, I definitely recommend “Black Panther” and I give it a 4.5/5

5/5: Excellent

4/5: Very Good

3/5: Good

2/5: Bad

1/5: VERY bad!

That’s it for this movie review. I hope you enjoyed reading and if you did, don’t forget to give this post a ‘like’ and to follow my blog.

I saw the movie on saturday. While I still don’t think this is the best Marvel movie (for me that is still the Winter Soldier) I did really enjoy it. The costumes and sets for it were very impressive 😀😀 Great review 😊

I saw this yesterday. I like the unique characters and setting. My favourite characters were
Erik Killmonger (the baddie), Shuri (the sister), and M’Baku (the mountain tribe leader). I did think some of the fight scenes were lame (especially that last one) and some parts dragged on. I rated this 8/10!

    • February 20, 2018 / 7:06 am

Yeah agreed!! Thanks a lot for reading!

I completely agree I think the overall film is great and really engages but for brief fleeting moments it was just a little too long-winded. Great concise review.

        I like the Marvel universe.

        • February 23, 2018 / 3:18 pm

Same! In fact, I am starting to love it more than DC!

            February 23, 2018 / 7:06 pm

I like both. The Marvel films are good. I liked DC comics growing up and remember the revival of the Dark Knight back in the late 80’s.

  14. February 26, 2018 / 8:45 pm

As I said I would do. So, I see the film. I must say, Marvel is crushing it.

Black Panther is by far one of my favorite films. Killmonger, I really felt for him and what he won’t through. I sympathized with the character. letitia wright, as shuri…she is my favorite in this movie. And the women of dora milaje are so awesome! Man, I can’t wait now for ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. It’s going tie Avengers with Wakanda. Thanos is going after his last infinity stone. Which is the Soul gem. All in all, Black Panther really did it for me as such a great film by Marvel Studios. DC/Warner bros is feeling the pressure now. hahahaha!!! They need to make great films again. The last couple of films they made sucked! Except for ‘Wonder Woman’ because that’s the only DC film that’s great, well written, and well produced. Hope they learn from ‘Wonder Woman’s’ success and built on that to make their universe be a well story-telling.

Totally agree!! And yes DC is making really bad films, except for Wonder Woman as you said!! I am looking forward to more Marvel films!!! Thanks a lot for reading and for sharing your opinion ❤️❤️

      • February 26, 2018 / 9:02 pm

It’s good to be a Marvel fan since 2008 and here we all are today still watching and still being the fan geeks that we are today. In Marvel we trust. Cheers to Black Panther, and Cheers to Avengers Infinity war! 🙂

I’m kinda late on your review, But the the visuals were amazing! Do you have an opinion on the two sides of the story? Not even related to race just the concept of fighting for progression vs. submitting to peace?

Thanks a lot for reading!! What do you mean by “progression”?

      • March 2, 2018 / 6:51 pm

Just the two sides of the coin. One ruler thought that in order to progress in the world outside WAKANDA they had to use violence and force while the other thought I️t was better to remain passively peaceful. So in order for people to “succeed” in life, should they fight or nah? Lol

I don’t believe in violence, but I do believe we should help others and fight for human rights, fight for what’s right. We don’t have to use violence for that though. I mean what T’Challa did at the end, I think that is a good example of that.
