Soft Matte Lip Creams by NYX: Hit or Miss?

Hello my pumpkins!

Second product review of the week and today I am reviewing the Soft Matte Lip Creams by NYX. On Christmas, I received the Soft Matte Lip Cream Vault 2 so I actually got to try a lot of shades and now I know if the NYX’s matte lip creams are a hit or miss!

By the way, I did not have time to take photos so I retrieved the photos from Pinterest. I am sorry, I was just overwhelmed with work!

Make sure to read my previous product review after reading this post!

Product Information

So this Vault comes with 36 shades from very neutral and elegant to very extravagant and sophisticated colors.

Each lip cream contains 4.7ml of product and the whole vault retails for 65$ [however the value is 108$]. Alone, these lip creams are available in 46 shades and retail for 6.50$ each

What it is supposed to deliver? “Our velvety smooth Soft Matte Lip Cream delivers a burst of creamy color and sets to a stunning matte finish. Surprisingly durable, lightweight and delightfully creamy.”

The packaging of the lip creams is pretty simple and basic, nothing too fancy, surely to keep the price down, but it is durable [the writings don’t come off after a while]. The color of the packaging does not accurately represent the color of the shades [the packaging makes the shades look SO saturated] so I do recommend you to swatch before purchasing any lip cream just to make sure that’s the color you want.

Unlike other liquid lipstick I own, all the information of the lip cream is horizontally written on the lip cream [not on the bottom or below]

By the way, on the back of the vault you have the swatches of the 36 shades. I think the swatches are accurate and you can know what shades you will get even if you don’t swatch them yourself.

For 6.50$ [full-size], the formula is really on point: they are not the most pigmented liquid lipstick I own but the pigmentation is good and you can easily build the coverage up however they apply very smoothly and they feel really soft on the lips, they are not lightweight but they are very comfortable. For the dark colors, it’s a little bit harder to build the coverage and have an even colour but you can make it work. I think I like the lip creams for the nude shades because it’s easier to work with them. Moreover, the nude colors do not oxidize after a while or look weird at the end of the day.

On another note, even though they are not transfer-proof, they are very much long-lasting.

My favorite shades are the following: Las Vegas, Toulouse, Stockholm, Abu Dhabi, Dallas, Los Angeles, Cannes, Seville, Copenhagen and Rome

I’ll definitely repurchase some of these shades in full-size and I really recommend the nude/ more subtle shades, they are cheap but the formula is really good. Hence, the Soft Matte Lip Creams by NYX are a hit.

That’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading and if you did, don’t forget to give this post a ‘like’ and to follow my blog [you can do that by email].

I like how these feel but they transfer too much in my opinion. I’m always fearful they are going to be smeared all over my face by the end of the day

In all my lip product tests I kiss my dog. If it comes off on diesels (white) face… it fails lol

The nude shades you have in your swatch look really pretty! I only ever tried the shade Copenhagen which is a deep berry shade, and it was just so patchy. The formula even felt kind of dry, like it didn’t go on smoothly so it was just a bad first impression.

Yes you should try the more subtle/nude shades, they are actually good with this kind of formula!! Thanks for reading 💕

I own three shades and I love them. I really wish I had more nude shades from this land because in my opinion, they’re super comfortable and lightweight.
