Maze Runner: The Death Cure [2018]

‘The Death Cure’ is the third movie of the Maze Runner trilogy and was directed by Wes Ball. The story goes as follow: Thomas embarks himself on a new mission, to rescue Mihno and find the cure for the deadly virus called ‘The Flare’

I am going to start this review by saying that this movie is WAY better than the second one, I really enjoyed it. I thought the second one was a disaster so I am happy that this one is not a flop and is not off-key like ‘The Scorch Trials’.

Despite the unexpected appearances, the few plot twists and the continued suspense, some things in the story were very much cliché and predictable [not gonna state what because I don’t want to spoil it for you of course]. Nevertheless, I still think that the story was very well-developed, builds up well to a climax and was well-transformed into the visual form [basically, the movie was well-directed and I didn’t feel like the plot was all over the place]. Some scenes are actually very moving, exciting and are marked with striking visuals

Another thing that I like in the Maze Runner trilogy is the fact that the ‘bad guys’ are not really bad [like typical action films], they fight for a logical and reasonable reason.

In conclusion, I think ‘Maze Runner: The Death Cure’ is an action/sci-fi film worth watching. I think this movie ends pretty well the Maze Runner saga, leaving it with a more or less happy ending. Over 5, I rate it a 3.

By the way, I think I am gonna start rating the movies I write reviews on. I think that might help you know if you should watch it or not.

5/5: Excellent

4/5: Very Good

3/5: Good

2/5: Bad

1/5: VERY bad!

That’s it for this movie review. I hope you enjoyed reading and if you did, don’t forget to give this post a ‘like’ and to follow my blog.

I honestly really enjoyed all of the Maze Runner films so far. I have yet to see this one, but I pretty much know I’m going to like it. Quite frankly I think out of all the YA franchises this is the one (at least when it comes to the movie adaptations) that I enjoyed the most 😊😊 Great review by the way: glad you enjoyed it.

I loved the first movie & hated the second one so I wasn’t sure if this one would be worth watching. It’s good to know it is! 😄

This is a franchise I am interested in viewing. Has interested me for a while. I have imagined it to be a bit like Hunger Games, which strongly resembled the George Orwell texts I read for political science. Some things about humanity and how we construct civilization seem to forever remain the same. The Who were always so apt at putting this into lyrics and melody xx
