Insidious: The Last Key [2018]

‘Insidious: The Last Key’ is a horror film directed by Adam Robitel. It tells the story of Dr. Elise Rainier who has to face her most fearsome hunting, in her family house.

This is a very enjoyable horror film, not the most horrific film I’ve watched but it is jumpy and engaging. I love how we take a look at Dr. Elise’s past and explain who she is. Plus, the story builds up well to an intense climax and is well developed, the scary scenes are successful as they are stressful and scary

However, I still feel like the story is confusing [there’s a lot of information to process] and inconsistent, it is not a good ending to the Insidious saga as it left many questions unanswered.

I personally prefer Insidious 1 and 2, they do a better job at scaring you. This is one can easily be forgotten and it doesn’t keep you awake at night even though the demon is VERY creepy.

But besides the story, the visuals and the acting are pretty good, some of the shots are very good and intensify well the ‘horror’.

If you want to be traumatized and scared, I don’t really recommend this horror film. Wait, till a good horror film comes out at the cinemas, don’t waste your money on this one.

BY THE WAY, I don’t know if the movie was censored in Lebanon but there’s this one scene I was so excited to see [I saw it on the trailer] but didn’t appear in the movie. I was so pissed!!!!

That’s it for this movie review. I hope you enjoyed reading and if you did, don’t forget to give this post a ‘like’ and to follow my blog.

I have up till now enjoyed the Insidious franchise, though I have to admit that parts 1 and 2 were the best. I have not yet seen this one, but I will probably wait until it arrives on dvd, and not visit this in the theatre. Glad you enjoyed the film enough though, even though it seems that it could have been a somewhat better movie. And as always great review!

I like the Insidious franchise as well, although I found the scare level going a bit down for me with each film, love finding out about Dr Elise’s life more.

I saw this yesterday and I actually loved it! I’m not a huge fan of the franchise. I like it, but don’t love it. I think 1 and this one were the best ones, in my opinion! Loved the review though! 😊
