Lime Crime Liquid Matte Lipstick: Hit or Miss?

Hello my pumpkins!

Welcome back to my blog and if you are new, welcome and join the pumpkin family!!

Today I am reviewing a liquid matte lipstick by Lime Crime Cosmetics. Matte liquid lipsticks have been super trendy for the past couple of years, many brands have come out with their own formulas but not all of them have perfected it.

Lime Crime offers extravagant and colorful makeup products that are vegan and cruelty-free. I’ve always wanted to get products from them but I don’t know, I was never able to order. I actually got this liquid lipstick as a gift from Plastik Studios [I model for them], I am very happy that I finally got to test one of their products.

Now, without further ado, let’s get into the review!

Product Information

This liquid lipstick comes in diverse shades, I have the shade ‘Riot’, it’s a kind of red-brown with a pink undertone. The tube contains 2.6 ml of products, the formula is matte and it retails for 20$.

Packaging

I think this is my favorite lipstick packaging of all time, I just love how this liquid lipstick looks. I love the upper part of the lipstick [where the applicator is], it’s just so aesthetically pleasing and cute and I love the fact that the tube is matte-transparent.

The lipstick itself doesn’t feel heavy at all and the tube is made out of plastic [but it feels like glass honestly]. It doesn’t feel or look luxurious but it doesn’t look/feel cheap as well.

The applicator is pretty basic, it’s similar to the applicator of the Kylie liquid lispstick and the Colourpop Ultra Matte lipstick.

Also, the velvetine lipstick came in a pretty red metallic box decorated with pink flowers and the name of the shade is written [and shown] on the box and on the bottom of the lipstick.

Another thing I want to add is that this lipstick smells AMAZING. You can obviously smell the vanilla scent but it’s not over-powering at the same time.

Formula

“Richly pigmented, French vanilla-infused formula glides on as a liquid and dries down to a luxurious, velvety matte finish that lasts for hours and hours. Touch-proof, kiss-proof and utterly addictive!”

I definitely think this lipstick is one of my favorite liquid matte lipstick. The formula is very similar to the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick, the only difference is that this one is transfer-proof unlike the Jeffree Star ones.

I really love how this lipstick feels: it dries out completely to a matte finish but it feels super hydrating, comfortable and light-weight. Plus, it’s very long-lasting and transfer-proof like I mentioned it before. It’s also very pigmented and glides on very smoothly and evenly.

Conclusion

The Matte Velvetines is definitely a hit for me, the formula is amazing, it’s better than anything I’ve tried and the packaging is super cute and original!

I still think that it’s very pricey, I mean 20$ is a lot. As a dupe, I recommend the Velour Liquid Lipsticks by Jeffree Star, his liquid lipsticks are as good Lime Crime’s, are cheaper and you get more products [2.6ml vs 5.6ml WHAAAT]

That’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading this post and if you did, don’t forget to give it a ‘like’ and to follow my blog.
