‘The Greatest Showman’ tells the story of a visionary man who, from nothing, created a spectacular show. The movie is a musical, inspired by the true story of P. T. Barnum and was directed by Michael Gracey.
There are several reasons why I really loved this film but the main is the soundtrack. The music is just so catchy, it’s very uplifting and touching. I really loved how modern it is even though the story is set in the 19th century.
I really loved the story in general, it’s very touching and well-developed but I think they missed a lot of important details like for example I didn’t feel like I saw enough of Circus performances and I wish I saw more of the circus characters. Also, ‘Jenny Lind’ is supposed to be an Opera singer but honestly, what she sings is not opera :p
Concerning the visuals, I really loved how the movie was filmed; the cinematography and art direction is beautiful. I also love how SOME scenes were edited [to show time passing by for example].
In fact, I was only mesmerized by the music and the visuals, not the characters. I didn’t feel for the characters, I don’t think they were well-developed and the actors don’t covey their emotions. Their acting is believable but it is not breath-taking or emotional.
Despite that, I still think this movie gives a joyous and uplifting experience and I do recommend you to watch it!
That’s it for this movie review. I hope you enjoyed reading and if you did, don’t forget to give this post a ‘like’ and to follow my blog.

I loved this movie sooo much
Not sure if I will see it. I was interested to read an article about Jackman last week and his love of cricket. He was photographed with 2 ex Australian cricketers who will never be forgotten at our family table. My father was a long serving member of staff for the ACB and seeing Jackman with 2 great human beings who treated my father with love, dignity, and respect after my brother was killed 23 years ago… these 2 blokes didn’t just do it for a month. They always made a point to see how my father was. I took it as a good sign of the Jackman character to be photographed with these particular 2 past champions.
Wow beautiful story! You must be proud!!
Don’t know about that. Proud to have had a brother as good as mine was. Proud to still do the right thing and the best I can.
My father is proud of me though my sporting career got trashed because I was busy in reality.
I am proud of my family and what we stand for… our resilience, tenacity, and moral fortitude
Probably why an ex captain and vice captain regard my father as a man after the CEO who busted his back to support us was ‘run out’ of business and the corporate structure mysteriously changed
Great review! I’m honestly not a huge fan of musicals in general, but there were a couple of them that I did like, such as Phantom of the Opera for instance. This one sounds pretty good, and the trailer for it also managed to make me at least curious for it. So maybe I wil; check it out. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it 😀

I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the film! It’s always a shame when the characters are not as well developed as they could have been, but sometimes it’s worth watching a film for beautiful music and visuals 🙂 Will be going to see this myself soon! Xx

Ah so glad you enjoyed it! I saw this movie just as it came to theaters here and I left the theatre so happy and found myself wanting to see it again just for the musical/visual aspects. There’s something so mesmerizing about it all, which I think also really captures the whole idea of the movie.

It is filled with feels. The message of the movie has been properly delivered through the actors and of course, the amazing songs. Who would not remember “This Is Me” and “Rewrite the Stars”. After watching I had this feeling that I want to go back to the ticket counter and pay more cuz I don’t feel like I paid enough. Amazing amazing! #CelebrateBeingDifferent
