This film is a mystery/thriller film, directed by Christopher Landon and tells the story of Tree Gelbman who has to re-live the day she dies until she discovers the identity of her killer.
I actually really enjoyed this film, it’s amusing and it’s not scary whatsoever but it contains some stressful moments and a few humorous scenes so it did grab my attention, kept me at the edge of my seat and made me laugh. Now, let’s talk about the movie in more details.
The actions in the story are pretty predictable but I liked how the writer gave the story a twist by adding humor and, at some point, making the situation funny. However, the writer did it genuinely, the comedic scenes are not lame at all. Furthermore, the story is very well-developed, very well-constructed and like I previously said, some scenes are very stressful.
The main character is what I loved the most in this film; she is a total bitch but she is so fun to watch and her reactions to her situation is hilarious. Moreover, Jessica Rothe knew exactly how to portray her, I really liked her acting; her performance is believable and not self-conscious.
Concerning the cinematography/production design and the soundtrack, everything is pretty basic but the movie is well shot and the special effects are very realistic.
On another note, I really like the title of the film, it’s super smart [she dies the day of her birthday] and different, it gives you an idea about what type of movie you are watching: thriller/comedy.
To conclude, I think ‘Happy Death Day’ is worth watching, I really recommend you to. In fact, I really want to go watch it again because it’s super entertaining.

Sounds interesting. Saw Thor the other week. Exceptional. Got a book of vouchers for 10 free movies on their way so will get out to see some films leading into Christmas.
Bright looks good and obviously Star Wars on December the 14th is mandatory. The Bard is always working on costumes so these are the kind of films he gets to advertise his crafts
I have so far been reading only pretty positive reviews for this one. I always love stories like these, so this one is definitely on my to watch list. Great review ๐
I have to go watch this movie ๐ Now that it’s colder outside I love to go to the movies x

It is!!
So glad to hear you really liked this! I keep seeing ads for it on YouTube and it looks a lot of fun. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to see it in cinemas
Well i hope you get to watch it cause itโs super entertaining!
Looks like it did well in the US. I’m curious to see it, especially after your review.
And when you do, let me know what you think of it!! ๐๐
Now I definitely want to watch Happy Death Day! The trailers made me laugh, but so often these days we get a trailer with all the best bits of the film, and there are no funny/interesting bits outside of that. Glad it isn’t one of those films!!! Now to try and see it before it leaves the cinema!
Yes very true!! I hope you get to see it soon
Fingers crossed ๐
I haven’t seen this movie yet, but I would like to. I’m going to wait for the DVD though. When I saw the trailer, it kind of reminded me of the Tru Calling episode, “The Longest Day”. Except in that episode, it was a different person dying each time the day repeated.
Yes the story is quite deja vu. It is still enjoyable, i hope you get to watch it!!
I finally got to watch it! I bought it on DVD, never having seen it before, so I was hoping it would be worth the $20. It was. I really loved it, and I’m going to watch it again tonight. ๐
is it kind of like groundhog day in that sense then? ๐
