Gerald's Game [2017]

‘Gerald’s Game’ is a horror/thriller film directed by Mike Flanagan, it tells the story of  Jessie who has to face her darkest fears after her husband dies, leaving her handcuffed to the be

I was not supposed to write a movie review about it but I couldn’t go to the cinema this week so I couldn’t write a movie review on a new movie that is out at the cinemas. Anyways, I often do quick movie reviews on my snapchat, you can add me, my username is joyabouzeid.

I was not sure what to expect when I first watched this film, I didn’t know if it was going to be good or really bad but honestly, I ended up really liking it!

The story itself is really okay, nothing that impressive but I like how it was developed and constructed and I liked how the writer genuinely incorporated Jessie’s past throughout the film. I also loved the characters: I loved the character of Gerald, he is so annoying hence, made the movie even more interesting and I loved the moonlight man, he is such a creepy, scary and interesting character, his story is very intriguing and worth making a movie about!

Nevertheless, the film is not scary and did not keep me at edge of my seat even though it contains a few stressful moments. The main reason why I liked it is because the acting is good: Bruce Greenwood’s performance as Gerald and Carla Gugino’s performance as Jessie are really moving and amazing. Their acting is very believable and I didn’t feel like they were self-conscious or aware of the camera.

On top of that, I really enjoyed the gory scenes!

To conclude, this movie is not the best horror/thriller film I’ve ever watched, however, I do think it is worth watching and is super entertaining; it is a nice movie to watch at night while drinking tea or hot chocolate!

That’s it for this film review, don’t forget to give this post a ‘like’ if you enjoyed reading and to follow my blog.

I read this book a long time ago and it was damn good. Like Misery, King uses a sense of time and its passage and the tension is harrowing. The guy is one of the greatest current story crafters.

Oh, I was hoping it would be scary since I’ve been in the mood for something like that. Still I think I’ll give it a shot. 🙂

I actually watched this the other day! I really liked the characters and watching how Jessie interacted with herself. It really was told very well. And no, it may not have been the scariest, but there’s that one scene at the end that had me almost gagging because the effects were that good with the gore lol. The story telling was also good. King always has these weird yet intriguing stories.
