HOW MY BLOG STARTED
About two years ago, I created a Tumblr account with my friends for fun, each one of us had our own account and we would share our adventures. On the side, I posted movie reviews, shared my fashion and makeup looks. I really enjoyed blogging however I never had the time to actually take it seriously because of university. Moreover, I’ve always loved seeing/reading makeup tutorials but I never dared creating a real beauty blog even though many people used to [still do] compliment my makeup looks and be impressed by the makeup I wore. But, I was just not self-confident. Same year I created my Tumblr blog, I met Aceel, who is today my best friend, she kept encouraging me to be a blogger [an official one] until our graduation day and that’s when I decided to create a wordpress account and take my blog more seriously.
At first, I shared more movie reviews and a few beauty related posts. Nevertheless, I noticed that people liked way more my makeup looks/reviews than my film critics. As a matter of fact, I must admit that makeup is something I’ve always loved; I love painting on my face, I love talking about makeup, I love trying new makeup products and for me, eight eyeshadow palettes is just not enough. So I decided to make my blog more related to beauty than to movies [I still post movie review though and I’ll never stop]!
ADVICES FOR NEW BLOGGERS
- Create a blog for passion, not for money or fame. Your readers will feel it if you are passionate about what you write or not.
- Be yourself and don’t be scared to share your opinion/point of view.
- Don’t forget to be nice, when someone comments on your blog, answer him/her. Support other bloggers by commenting/liking their blogpost. That’s how your blog will succeed and that’s how you make friends.

It’s funny how Tumblr started out as a blogging platform, but hardly anyone on there uses it for ‘real’ blogging. haha I just use my tumblr to post and reblog photos.
