Hello my pumpkins,
I hope all is well with you, today I am going to be reviewing the Shade & Light palette by Kat Von D. I’ve been wanting to buy this palette for a long time, I don’t actually know why I waited that long to purchase it, but well. I asked my mum to get it for me from Sephora france and now I finally have it.
I absolutely love the packaging, it’s so gothic and edgy; I love the 3D writing [on the top cover], I love how the title is outlined in silver, I love how it reflects the light and I love the font of the writings. So yes, basically, I love how this palette looks. Moreover, I love the shape of the mirror, it suits very nicely with the rest of the packaging and it is original. I like how Kat Von D thought of all the details to make this palette very true to her style. Also, in the back, there’s the names of the shades neatly written in boxes and each boxes are parallel to the shade it’s referring to [I don’t know how to explain ti better]
The formula is also on point: The contour shades are so pigmented [like seriously], very easy to blend and they don’t look muddy whatsoever. To bronze my face, I like to use the two warm-toned shades on the right [I mix them] but to contour my nose I use the cold-toned shade. Concerning the highlighting shade, I mostly use the banana shade in the middle and I love it: it really brightens my under-eyes and it’s very pigmented. On top of that, it doesn’t look to powdery or doesn’t add extra coverage so it doesn’t make your foundation or concealer look cakey. I also use the light shade [the one on the left] to set my eyeshadow primer.
This palette retails for 45 euros. At first, I thought 45 euros was too expensive for this product but honestly, for this amazing formula and beautiful packaging, it’s definitely worth it. Furthermore, you get a lot of product: 6.9g [light shades] and 13.5g [contour shades].
That’s it for today. If you found this review to be interesting/useful, please don’t forget to give it a ‘like’ and to follow my blog.
