Atomic Blonde [2017]

Set during the Cold War, Atomic Blonde tells the story of Lorraine, an MI6 agent who is sent in Berlin to look into the murder of her fellow agent and to find a missing list. This film was directed by David Leitch, who is currently directing Deadpool 2.

Let me be honest, this film is not worth remembering and trust me, it is a very forgettable movie despite the efforts of trying to make it “unique” and “extraordinary’.

Let’s start the review with the plot: well-developed but deja-vu, no suspense whatsoever, too many plot holes, too many endings and characters are too cliché and stereotyped. Even though there is a lot of action, the film is boring and I couldn’t wait for it to finish. I still liked the fighting scenes but still, nothing new, nothing amazing.

Visually, the movie is interesting; it is obvious that the director tried to go for a specific type that is different than what we usually see in movies but it is still cliché and inspired by other great movies [check photos below]. I liked the production design and the cinematography, I loved most of the shots but really, there is nothing astonishing and nothing that can make me fall in love with the film.

I say that this film is neither really bad, nor really good, it’s in the middle and because it’s in the middle, it’s forgettable, like even the acting is basic.

Like I mentioned earlier, I appreciated the efforts the director made to try to make it “different, visually” but I would still not recommend anyone to watch it, unless you really love Charlize Theron, then go watch it cause she is bomb.

That’s it for today’s review, if you found this post to be interesting/useful, please don’t forget to give it a ‘like’ and to follow my blog.

I’ve read loads of reviews saying the same thing; I think the director or producer was involved somehow with John Wick and the styles are apparently very similar xx

    Hey! Joy…I’m back!

Well, I was going to see Atomic Blonde. I heard mixed reviews by some close friends of mine. I’m still hesitant to even go and spend my money’s worth. I’ll think about checking it out or wait till it comes out on Cable. You write such great detail reviews. I got to say, you are my favorite reviewer. 🙂

By the way, do you also like watching Independent movies as well?
I’d like to recommend you a movie I think will blow your mind away. Would you care for me to share with you?

And you are welcome my friend. I miss ya and miss reading your work.

Okay, I’m sure you are familiar with ‘Alejandro Jodorowsky’ yes? Please…please…do a review on his film from a long time ago, called: ‘The Holy Mountain’. If you haven’t seen it, please! I beg of you…watch it! Trust me…you won’t see any movie being made like this in Hollywood. If you have seen it, then awesome! still do the review. Let me know if you’d heard of Jodorowsky and his film.
