ColourPop Cosmetics – liquid lipstick review

ColourPop is an American brand created by Seed Beauty in 2014. It offers diverse products [lips, eyes, face, brows] of high-end quality but at a cheap price. Moreover, it is cruelty free.

I own 5  matte liquid lipsticks, 7 satin liquid lipstick and one gloss. All of the matte and satin lipsticks are so freaking pigmented, they apply very easily, very smoothly and evenly, except for two shades: ‘Pooky bear’ [Matte, bright orange] and ‘Love Muffin’ [Satin, bright baby pink]. Even though, they are pigmented and smooth, they are streaky and do not apply evenly, you really need to go over it several times to have an even colour. Nevertheless, I am not complaining because it’s only 6$.

Same thing goes for the lipgloss that I own: it is pigmented, applies easily, smoothly and evenly. However, like any lipgloss, it barely lasts an hour. Personally, I don’t like to wear a lipgloss on its own, I like to apply it on top of a matte liquid lipstick.

All of the matte/satin lipsticks are very long-lasting – like even if I bit my lips, kiss, drink or eat, the colour won’t fade out and won’t transfer. Furthermore, I find the matte ones to be less drying than the Kylie Cosmetics ones but of course, it’s always better to moisturize your lips before applying them.

I think the ColourPop’s lip products are the perfect dupe for the Kylie Cosmetics’s lip products. Moreover, ColourPop offers a wide range of gorgeous colors [my personal favorite is ‘bumble’, it is a beautiful, subtle, warm pink].

Here are swatches of all the lipsticks I own [I only dipped once into the container]
