Honey Bronze Drops of Sun Review – Summer Makeup look

Summers can be very hot and sweaty, especially in Lebanon, so wearing a full face of makeup can be tricky and obviously you gotta match your foundation with your tanned body. I recently discovered this product by The Body Shop called ‘Honey bronze drops of sun’; it is supposed to give your face a nice tanned glow, it has a matte finish and you can mix it with your daily moisturizer or foundation.

Let me give you a background information about my face: I have a combination to oily skin, I suffered from acne for several years, now my skin is clearing out but I still have acne scars and get pimples here and there from time to time. My skin is not smooth whatsoever and I have discoloration.

First of all, I don’t think this product is a good idea if you have dry skin or if your face skin is peeling off because it will cling on your dead skin and look like dirt. Hence, make sure that your skin is smooth and moisturized before applying it.

I thought that it did a good job at tanning my face when I mixed it with my primer, but when I tried it with my CC cream, it made my face look very orange so, I did not like the result at all. Either ways, the fake tan stayed on well all day.

I would use this product only if I don’t want to wear any foundation or cc cream but still want my face to look tanned and by the way, it hides discoloration [not too much but it does]. If you wish to conceal blemishes and dark circles, you can just add some concealer; I suggest the ‘Fit me’ by Maybelline, it gives a medium to full coverage, it has a natural finish and it doesn’t crease [but make sure to set it with translucent powder].

As for my everyday makeup routine, I first conceal my dark circles with some orange color corrector [Master Camo color correcting kit by Maybelline, in light] then I apply CC cream [123 perfect cc cream by Bourjois, ’34’], mainly on my problem areas. I set my face with my HD studio finishing powder by NYX cosmetics [on the areas of my face that get oily] and I shape my eyebrows a little using my brow drama pro palette by Maybelline.

Afterwards, I put on a little bit of bronzer [Hoola Matte bronzer by Benefit cosmetics], blush [Love Flush by Too Faced, ‘Love Hangover’ and ‘I will always love you’] and highlighter [Super shock highlighter by Colourpop Cosmetics, ‘Wisp’]. Finally, for my eyes, I use the Sweet Peach Palette by Too Faced.

First of all, I put ‘Puree’ above my crease, then I put ‘Summer yum’ on my crease. Second of all, I put ‘Delectable’ on my outer lid and on my  lash line. Finally, I mix ‘Puree’ and ‘Summer yum’ and apply them on my lower lash line.

Of course, I apply some brown mascara by the body shop and I set my makeup with the Urban Decay makeup setting spray, ‘All Nighter’

This makeup look lasts me all day and feels lightweight.

+I am sorry I could not swatch the product for you but my body is already pretty tanned [so it won’t show if I swatch it on my hand] and right now, my face skin is peeling off really bad.
